Look they are not going to roll in tanks or even use military force. It will hurt the economy too much and drive ppl away from investing into HK/China. Investors will move their money/investment back to US if it happens (Unstable political problems is bad for investments). US sure the market is not doing too well but at least is a more stable then say HK/China. Not to mention it will only force people who are able to move to other countries move faster leaving you with the poor.
Most likely the police will drag it out. As it drag on more people will be against the protest and then police will have the perfect reason to remove the students. Will the police use force? Most likely some type of force will be use (tear gas, pepper spray, etc etc.....). I mean we are seeing this now more and more people are showing signs they aren't happy with the protest (not just the people that was paid to cause issue but regular citizen and business).
I think people have to look at the real reason for this whole umbrella Occupy. The reason why so many ppl protest is because of the way how wealth is being distributed in HK. If regular citizens can afford to buy their own apartments, able to live a decent live (IE start their own family, purchase their own apartments, able to save enough to retire, etc etc...) do you think they care who gets elected? No they don't care (maybe a few minior will). But the current state in HK is that Most of the wealth is being given to a few rich ppl only and they pretty much run HK. Worse the gov haven't done much to help the poor. The gov made it worse (The guy before CY stop the building of affordable housing for 7 years) that alone drives up the housing market a lot. Also allowing some China city citizens to freely travel back and forth between China and HK worse the issue.
Basically a lot of HK resource are being taken by these ppl from China (Schools, grocery, health care, old age retirement funds, beaches, camping grounds, swimming pools etc etc....). In order to make these new shoppers happy mega shopping malls are built pushing out old shops that's affordable to the locals. To make thing worse the gov not only doesn't stop this but increase the number of ppl from China to enter freely into HK to take more resources (anyone remember baby milk powders shortage , elementary school seats being taken?).
I feel the students are just puppets to something else such as forcing a gov in order to re-distribute the wealth.
In 2046, the CCP gonna walk across Shenzhen river like this

Just came across this most disgusting video regarding the HK Police's use of excessive and completely unjustified use of violence.
The video actually came from TVB news, and I am rather surprised that the footage actually made its way out to the public. The section of interest starts at 1:29 all the way to 2:30:
TVB took the footage down, and removed it from all their coverage... They later had to apologize.
HK people all feel let down, as despite confrontations, most believe the police were "just doing their job". They can't feel that way any more.
Now there's more people showing up at occupy (it was starting to slow down) and people are showing up at the Wan Chai police station to urge those officers to be arrested
As someone who has defended the police throughout this whole ordeal, I feel pretty disgusted and let down by this incident.

look at all the incidents of brutality that happened here in BC or in the states we get the same posters saying that the suspect deserves it and shouldn't have antagonized officers...yet when a case of brutality happens "close to home" all of a sudden it is undeserved and is called what it is (brutality)

People always say that stupid shit here.. same thing for when cyclists get hit by cars. They're just being internet blow-hards, you shouldn't take their statements seriously at all
All I can say nothing will happen to these police. They will go about their day and maybe even get promoted. I mean what's this so call "we will investigate" Yea sure police investigating police do we actually expect the police in the video to get punish or get sue or even get fire. Don't think so lol.

All I can say is this have forever change my view about HK and Hk police force.
After my trip back to HK in Sept I was already debating will I ever go back and have doubts about getting my HK ID (Still have the child one so I am switching to the adult one). Now I don't even want go back and couldn't care less if I can get my HK ID.
