| Discount tire mounting
hi guys
Thinking of getting some tires in Washington either Bellingham or marysville discount tire locations. I was planning on getting them mounted and installed there also. Any experiences with them? I have had issues in the past with my wheels being scratched on other vehicles so I am always careful where I go for mounting. It's a 20 inch wheel with 235/45 size tire.
any opinions on discount tires installation and equipment ?
Thanks

Firstly I will say that I am a newbie who knows nothing about cars, but I have purchased tires from them before.
They may try to lecture you about rubbing if wheel or tire is bigger than stock.
Also, they may force you to get tpms if your car comes with them stock...

As with any tire shop, it depends on the equipment AND the tech.

i've been to the bellingham discount tire twice
once for honda fit 15" tires... don't know how to explain this but the back wheels are drum brakes and in the centre there's this hub cap type thing, but it's not really for the wheel it's attached to the drum but visible through my wheels... anyways, i smoked them black because otherwise they really stood out, but when i went to get new tires/mounted/balanced, somehow it seems like they un-smoked one of them?? it's back to its original silver colour... i didn't even know how to complain about it, it's such a minor problem, but how they did that is baffling to me
second time was for lexus ES 17" all 4 tires, they forced the tpms on me... other than that didn't notice any damage to the wheels (although it'd be hard to tell anyways since my mom likes to rub her car on the curb so much)

Bought multiple sets of tires at Bellingham Discount Tire for varying vehicles. Never a problem, excellent service. Not sure what your guys' issues are with the TPMS thing, I just brought a vehicle equipped with TPMS and they slapped on the new tires and didn't even mention the sensors. All operating as per normal and they are the 7 year old factory units.

good service, i just went down and got 235/45/20's. ordered them online with the tpms rebuild, when i got there, the tech told me i didn't need them. installed and paid, out the door in 45mins. not a scratch on the rim. i'd recommend them.

i did a quick google on the spot and it said some cars DO need TPMS replaced everytime | Some cars have the TPMS sensors on the stem of the valve, and to replace the stem you have to cut it off, requiring a new TPMS sensor.
I think domestic cars are usually the ones that don't need replacing because the TPMS is attached to the rim by a metal band wrapped around it.
From what I remember working at Kal Tire anyways.

I went to the Burlington location a few years back. Really friendly people. We talked on the phone first. When I arrived like 5 hours later they remembered me and the tires I was looking for.
The only negative thing I can think of was they forgot to put on 1 of my center caps. If my friend hadn't noticed and pointed it out, I would've driven away not knowing any better.

I had a good experience with the Bellingham location. Perhaps just talk to the service advisor first and ask him to be extra careful!

I ended up going to the Marysville location and everything was good. Told them to be extra careful with the wheels and no scratches. They lost one of my metal tire valve caps and claimed I was missing one. No big deal.

Speed Syndicate got really good prices on tires. I find that they are on par or just slightly more than US pricing. Also, they have a great tire machine with techs that knows what they are doing. Doesn't hurt to just give them a call for a quote.
