They look so terrible though, that tread pattern is yuck
If I had known they were on the Lexus Camry when you picked me up the other day I might not have gotten in even with your soft hands and inviting smile
Does anyone here run cross climates? Is the snowflake more for decoration than anything or are they truly a 4 season tire? I want to throw these contis in the garbage on the golf, and don't mind spending more for the CCs over a dedicated winter since these tires are essentially no season tires even with 90% tread.
When I got them for Acura TL Dynamic (yes, with LSD) and swapped off of XIce 3's, I swear I can feel a difference.
Functionally, they're fine but I find myself feeling less confident and more cautious still.
Nuh-uh oh no you di int. This opinion is not allowed.
My other hot take: a lot of tires that do really well in east coast winters absolutely shit bricks in Vancouver.
Same X-Ice 3 that I was bombing down snowy 407 in at 140kmh is almost useless in the slush (SH-AWD is all over the road) ...and Nokian WRG2s that slayed the dry east coast snow totally got me stuck in Vancouver.

People like to joke about how Vancouver drivers always complain it's worse here, but it legitimately is a lot harder to drive when it's dumping wet snow onto streets that were just rained on and -3 than when its -15 and snow fell onto dry pavement like in most of the rest of canada. Edmonton was a lot easier to drive in a snowstorm. Worst part though was the ice ruts in a low car.

If I need to get 2 sets I'll get something cheaper dedicated for winter then end up doing something stupid like buying some merc wheels with summers and blow money on coilovers for this piece of shit too.
I'm running CC2s on a FWD. These tires got me through last year's snow storm, no problem at all, even through the worst of it when everyone was getting stuck

Ok it's not just me then that I found the X-Ice 3 not well suited to Vancouver winter. I always thought I just got ones that are too wide but tyre reviews debunked that myth recently. Most snow tires have a hard time with PNW winters and the car just gets pushed around by the heavy water laden snow.

Xi3 does not have enough voids for PNW snow weather - it's designed for dry icy stuff. That's why it lasted so well, and did so well in the dry/wet (H speed rating vs the T of the Blizzak/VC7 etc) Hence if you look at the new stuff that Michelin put out, you can see the tread pattern has bigger sipes/voids and is more aggressive.
