FYI Costco includes free installation and 5-yr road hazard warranty.

I just got a sidewall gash driving down the hwy a couple weeks ago in the i3, and Costco replaced the tire no problem.

275 wide and low profile...are you putting these on a Porsche?

Saw a 4* review from 8 months ago on Crappy Tire that said the tires he got were 2 years old.

It'll still out-perform any Chinese snow tire, but the VikingContact 7 is such a good snow tire. Saw them in my size (205/55r16) at wheelwiz for $188/ea

https://wheelwiz.ca/products/c-03452380000

I work near Brentwood now, so I need good tires. Last year, 1st ave was a bobsledding track

edit: quattrotire has VC7 for $172. $690/4 with a 10% off code/rebate.

Despite having a reasonable amount of tread left, I am going to replace our Blizzaks WS80s on the Mazda3 this winter as it has been 5 years now and I think it's time. They have been an excellent winter tire and I am going to be hard pressed to choose anything else - they behave reasonably in the dry although a little bit noisy, good wet performance, and good snow and ice performance. Is Costco still the move for Bridgestones?

I walked by a new TLX Type-S yesterday, which I immediately noticed because you don't see those very often... and then I looked down and it had CC2's on it and it just ruined the entire look of the car. So ugly.

Don't do it lol

The CC2s competitors have really caught up in the last year and now people don't have to go with the ugly Spy Balloon eyebrows for all weathers.

https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/...Tyres-2024.htm

The Pirelli and Goodyear all weathers are rated just as good on Tire Rack and the CC2 came in 4th against its Euro competitors. Still a great tire but you have choices now. The Pirelli is a good looking tire IMO.

Two caveats:

1) The TireRack results linked are consumer reported, need to use the actual test results.
2) Most All Seasons with 3PMSF realllllly suck in the wet.

Pirelli test results on BRZ, comparable in wet
GoodYear results on 430i, not good in wet

235/40/19 - this was back in March at Costco but the stock comes and goes so you should almost check daily. My size just happened to be available when Michelin ran a Costco promo and most sizes stocked out by the end of day 1.

I didn't like the tires and I no longer have them - back to summer / winter swaps for me.

Don’t let the wrong tires limit your driving experience. I recommend opting for performance winter tires and swapping them on the same set of rims. The CC2’s increased rolling resistance, braking, and handling tradeoffs aren’t worth the convenience of having only one set of tires.

Yeah, I'm leaning more towards the Pirelli Cinturato WeatherActive simply because the tread isn't as ugly and has rim protection... lol... Too bad we don't get the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 here, that looks like a sporty tire.

Same boat here for my Rav4, currently have General Altimax Arctic that is already 7 seasons old, probably time to replace despite deep tread.

From the last few pages it looks like Bridgestone Blizzak DMV2 (WS90 not available in my size) might be overkill?

Is Michelin X-Ice Snow good for our weather? I am in tri cities so a lot of hills.

Price of the latest General Altimax ($60 cheaper per tire) is tempting.

My experience with X-Ice 3 has been meh on the M3. It's 5 years old now and I am contemplating getting something else. The X-Ice Snow is apparently quite a lot better though. One thing about the X-Ice 3 is that it doesn't wear at all. My tires still look like they are brand new.

I assume you'll be staying home or taking the X5 for snow driving, so I would choose the Pilot Alpin 5 for your M3 since you'll get better dry / wet performance in the cold compared to the X-Ice Snows. They'll still handle snow fine if you need to take it out in the snow.

I ran Sottozero Serie II performance winters last year and they turned out pretty great - had no problems handling our snow here and performed better than the Sottozero 3 / X-Ice 2, 3, Snow I had in the past.

What tires did you get for the X5?

The DMV2 and WS80/90 have a very soft winter compound for the first 45%, then a less soft compound for the last half.
I don't run them because I'd rather get Nokians if I wanted the most aggressive studless tire.

The XIce Snows are quite a bit better than the XIce 3 in slush.
The Altimax or VikingContact 7 are probably fine.

Good lord that's a lot of $

Not saying it's a bad price for what you're buying, I haven't had to buy new tires for any newer type of car really... so I'm out of loop on pricing for stuff when TPMS etc gets involved or anything more than 17" really... but wow that's heady $2k+ sounds cray to me from a sticker shock perspective

Great deal.
The spot that RedFlagDeals cheapskates love in Toronto wants $2890 without TPMS.

It's wheels AND tires AND TPMS, so a great deal IMO.
