Since my rear decided to be on the wear bars by 34,000KM on my tesla. It was traction light, wiggle, traction light wiggle everywhere I went. Scored a set of pretty much brand new Vredestein Hypertrac for cheap on marketplace, dated 2022 damn.... I have to say, its actually really good. I can once again floor it everywhere in the wet and the traction light dont even come on... I am super impressed for the wet performance, so now I just hope snow will be passable, I dont need it to be good, but enough to get me to work. But the wet stuff!!! Woot |

Was driving Miata last night in Calgary and it was 3C... this morning I'm shovelling 4-5" of snow... it begins.... |
you should really buy a snow blower now. no point in shoveling. |
I originally posted in the wrong thread. Just switched over to my winters. Some guy in my complex drove over asking me how much I charge for swapping over to winters. I said to him I don't do this for anyone. He says, "Why not? I see you have all the tools so you're a mechanic." I said to him, "I'm not a mechanic. I'm lucky that my wheels haven't fallen off yet." He laughed and drove away. :D |
Tell him you only work on Porsches and Toyotas. Nothing else |
I wonder if Costco will have any BF/CM deals for next week. |

I torque them because I'm not a mechanic and I don't trust myself swapping over my wheels. :D I do what EvoFire does. Most of my driving is highway (because Toronto) so I retorque a few times and pray that I don't cause a fiery crash on the 401 and end up on CP24. |

I recheck for peace of mind but I don't think I've ever had a wheel loosen off. I always torque them with the tire touching the ground but not fully down so hopefully that ensures it can seat fully. |
I re-torque my wheels every time after I swap a new set on, but I'd have to drive the car for anywhere between 50 - 100km before the re-torquing is useful. If I try to re-torque too early, everything is still tight. With the FWD Mazda, lug nuts on the rear wheels are rarely loose, but I'll do them anyway. The fronts would generally have a few lug nuts that needs a bit of re-torquing. With the RWD car, usually 1 or 2 lugs on each wheel would need a little bit of re-torquing. |
I've lost a lugnut back in the day. I've been quite diligent about torqing ever since. |
i usually retorque after a half tank of gas. never once in 20+ years have i had a loose lug, but better safe than sorry. winter wheel update: the set up i got quoted a few page back are sold out... the search continues! |

^^ I found some oem m40i with winters on fbm, they’re in north van. Made him an offer, hopefully he doesn’t sell them before I can make it over next month. |
I could hold onto them for you if only 1 month. |
I can grab them if you want |

i dont want to trouble you guys. i'll be heading over on a weekday so it might be tricky to arrange a meet up time with my tight schedule and your workday. the seller works from home so pickup time is flexible. |
Don't want you to lose a sale for a second time. If you change your mind, hit us up. |
 thanks again! |
