Since my rear decided to be on the wear bars by 34,000KM on my tesla. It was traction light, wiggle, traction light wiggle everywhere I went.

Scored a set of pretty much brand new Vredestein Hypertrac for cheap on marketplace, dated 2022

damn.... I have to say, its actually really good. I can once again floor it everywhere in the wet and the traction light dont even come on...

I am super impressed for the wet performance, so now I just hope snow will be passable, I dont need it to be good, but enough to get me to work. But the wet stuff!!! Woot

I originally posted in the wrong thread.

Just switched over to my winters.

Some guy in my complex drove over asking me how much I charge for swapping over to winters. I said to him I don't do this for anyone. He says, "Why not? I see you have all the tools so you're a mechanic."

I said to him, "I'm not a mechanic. I'm lucky that my wheels haven't fallen off yet." He laughed and drove away.

Do you guys actually re-torque your wheels after you do a swap? I used to but found that whether I did them or not I've never had a problem with my lugs loosening so I've stopped doing it. I also don't drive much so I only go a max of 5000km between wheel swaps so maybe it never becomes an issue.

I usually torque, drive around the block or two blocks, come home and retorque.

I've got them on our Kia Soul, driving around in the ice and snow in Calgary today and it was like I was driving on a dry road. You're going to love them.

I torque them because I'm not a mechanic and I don't trust myself swapping over my wheels.

I do what EvoFire does. Most of my driving is highway (because Toronto) so I retorque a few times and pray that I don't cause a fiery crash on the 401 and end up on CP24.

Everywhere I have heard has said it will be average temps and above average precipitation/storm cycles in the PNW.

I recheck for peace of mind but I don't think I've ever had a wheel loosen off. I always torque them with the tire touching the ground but not fully down so hopefully that ensures it can seat fully.

I re-torque my wheels every time after I swap a new set on, but I'd have to drive the car for anywhere between 50 - 100km before the re-torquing is useful. If I try to re-torque too early, everything is still tight.

With the FWD Mazda, lug nuts on the rear wheels are rarely loose, but I'll do them anyway. The fronts would generally have a few lug nuts that needs a bit of re-torquing.

With the RWD car, usually 1 or 2 lugs on each wheel would need a little bit of re-torquing.

I've lost a lugnut back in the day. I've been quite diligent about torqing ever since.

i dont want to trouble you guys. i'll be heading over on a weekday so it might be tricky to arrange a meet up time with my tight schedule and your workday. the seller works from home so pickup time is flexible.
