Enkei is an OEM supplier for some Toyotas, but there are Canadian wheel plants run by Toyota for vehicles built here.

However, there was a special trim of Prius many years ago that got forged wheels made by Rays...

Gotta have those premium wheels to handle that 12-second 0-100 km/h time and 0.6g skidpad

I’ve been happy with all the Enkei wheels from Infinity, no real wear or clear coat issues on either of my sets

maybe next season: anyone running all-weathers on rwd with lsd? just to get around town

are they good for the warrantied mileage and how's summer dry cornering performance?

choices are the toyo, vredestein, goodyear and kumho ..no michelins for my size

Are the Nokians an option?

I tried the Kumho Solus HA31 on a FR-S - awful cornering performance in the dry summer. Very unpredictable breakaway mid-corner at highway speeds on the S2S.

I've been much happier with beating on Nokians in the summer across a variety of cars (WRG2/3) but I hear the compound doesn't hold up that well to heavier cars.
In the mid 3000lb weight range, they seem to be hitting treadwear claims on RAV4 and TL we have within the family.

Haven't driven Vredestein or Goodyear, but Tirerack seems to think the Quatrac 5 weren't as good as some normal A/S in the snow and that the Goodyears suck in the wet.

Looks like the newest Vredestein doesn't do very well in the snow either.

APA seems to think the Celsius aren't as good as the WRG4.
https://apa.ca/all-weather-tires.asp

TBH I wish the Crossclimate 2 were available in the sizes I needed since I hear they're great, but barring that, I've been very happy with WRG2/3 across different seasons in Ontario/BC.

apparently they're bringing dozens of new sizes to the A/S 4 so maybe the CC2 will also be expanded

Never say never...
but so far, even in the long term forecast, temps seem to be averaging out at 5°C which is pretty damn warm, relatively.

I bought an electric shovel back in October in preparation... I've never used anything besides a basic shovel for snow, so I'm looking forward to this new experience.

Way late to the party not even going to bother mounting this year but I got a new set of Goodyear Winter Command tires from a friend and a 2nd set of rims of craigslist for my Colorado.

$800 for the tires $300 for the rims, at least I'm set for next year.

Only thing I do notice is, it doesn't grip as superb as when it was new. General Altimax.
I'm also in the same boat riding on some Pirelli winter's, still grips like hell and the over all condition of the tires seems to be okay. Tread is about 8 years old and stored in the garage, away from the elements.

I bought a set of 215/55/17 Michelin Snow's for future replacement about 710 bucks and got like $70 in Canadian Tire money back from it.

It's about time to start thinking of winters so I don't have to deal with shortages and stuff in a couple months.

I'm looking at getting the Michelin X-Ice Snow for the wifes Rav and just running them year round because she barely drives it. We've had the regular X-Ice on 3 different cars and liked them but has anyone tried the new Snow version?

It looks like PMCTire is the cheapest place to get them that I can find, 225/65R17 for $191/tire, no PST, free shipping.

I bought these last year and they worked well for that short snowfall in February. It's a pretty new model and the mild winter we had in the lower mainland wasn't enough for me to identify major differences...

According to Black circle Tires, there's going to be a price increase for tires starting tomorrow September 1st.

I have on PS4s and DWS last year. It never snowed enough to bother putting winters on. Although the Whistler closures and travel bans affected that in a huge way.

My brother's driving the R53 Mini now and he's working up at SFU. Given the historic trend of snow and getting up/down Burnaby Mountain, he's going to need to replace the tires on that $800 beater soon.

I haven't but I got my FIL Nordman all weather tires which were basically the Nokian WRG2 tires and they're ok - they are fine with folks just looking to get by year round.

I am considering the Michelin Cross Climate tires - I've heard nothing but good things from people who run them and they seem really well suited to our climate. I'm running summer and winter tires and my DWS06 Plus are really noisy and I don't really need the stiff ride it comes with so a Cross Climate SUV seems like it'd let me get rid of my winters and it'd be quieter and nicer riding. I just need something good enough to get by in Vancouver winters and the Cross Climate seems like it does the job well for that.

I had Nokian WRG3 on my 330ci, open diff rwd. Would not recommend.

But fwd you should be fine. That same winter, I ended up driving with the civic which zoomed through everything even on Primacy MXM4 which are m+s and not snowflake rated.

The following winter where we also got a big dump, I was driving around in the 330 with Triangle winter tires. Worked like a charm, drove up to the mountains a bunch with no issues.
