lol, most people are probably not going to look out the window during this hour.

They'll wake up for work tomorrow morning and get a nice surprise when they leave the door.

month old reply but

no difference in fuel econ going to geolandar g015 from a/s..noise difference was barely noticeable if you actively try to listen

they were great this past snow storm in the city, tested them each night before plows came

frost/ice still slippery of course, and once on fsr with a foot or two of fresh snow they didn't provide confidence (i didnt air down and was still playing around with traction control/transfer case though)

Now that he swapped to the ko2 he even makes excuses to go drive in the snow. Lives on a big steep hill in coquitlam, no issues. He also has a chevy 3500 van or e350 whatever, 2wd also with ko2 and has never been stuck so far which is good for a tradesman.

Hes never had any issues in the winter keeping up with me and our friends in our Subaru’s or awd cars with proper snow tires.

The only winter rated LT’s I can think of immediately are the KO2, falken wildpeaks, and the newer Pirelli scorpion.
i got wildpeak at trails on my forester and its not too great on ice, but in snow it's amazing. can just drive through 6" of snow like it's nothing, even when it's powdery and even from a stop.

When my RS was lifted I made any excuse to head out in snow. Going up to Manning park and blasting through probably 16” of snow like it wasn’t there. The ko2 were pretty impressive

So I used up my Pilot Alpin 4s on the road trip down to California, was down to 3/32nds tread. Bought Pirelli PZero Winters while I was heading back, arrived in Vancouver and swapped them out while it was still cold.

First impressions are that they're quieter than the PA4s with a slightly softer sidewall (though the PA4s were MOE so they felt quite harsh), turn in is good. Some low frequency rhythmic noise around 110-120 due to tread design I think. Rides a lot better but they're not MOE so that makes sense too, a lot better on the bumps and imperfections. Swapped to summers now so I'll update with more impressions next winter.

Would the noise simply be due to the worn state of the PA4? I find worn tires are a lot louder.

My 80% tread PA4s are quiet in my BMW E90. They’re so solid even at moderate aggressive high speed with sweeping corners such as ones found on the Sea to Sky. The only times I feel moderate tread squirm is very aggressive high speed with corners. That’s where the performance in the tire is more geared for adverse conditions. I’ve loved these tires so far. In the city while tooling around hard, I barely notice they’re even winters. LOL

Oh, don’t get me wrong the PA4 were great tires. They worked well even in the hot LA weather, took them driving around some canyons and it was like I was on all seasons.

Evo, it could be, but I got the tires used at 8/32nds so they weren’t super quiet to begin with?

Given the discrepancy of our income levels (you being the higher income earner) I can only ever dream of doing such a thing, let alone insure the vehicle this year

Took the PA4s to Mission back roads today in 15°C weather. I’m amazed how well they work still. Turn-in is sharp, cornering feedback is communicative and braking is straight and predictable. I’ll retire them in the next two weeks though. When you’re trying to keep up with a GTR on 200 tread wear RS4s, performance winters aren’t going to cut it. My car’s torque level was making flashy flash in the speedo on corner exit. LOL

They did well in Los Angeles canyons in 25c-30c weather, surprisingly. They're good performance tires.

They add 15hp per letter. But they fly off one by one on the highway.

Swapped back to all seasons, rides so much smoother and quieter than snow tires. And using an impact made the job so much faster

Is Costco a good place to swap rims? I have 17" rims with 275/70/17 tires which I would like to move to new rims. Any other recommendations ?

Think they're the cheapest service center around for tire swaps at $20/wheel.

Ditto. If you don't have fancy wheels that require the hands of angels sent from heaven above to handle them, at $20 a pop, they are a good deal these days.
