What are the specs on your air compressor.

underscore 11-28-2014 11:12 AM

I'm not sure, I'll have to check when I get home. I have two so I might run them in parallel for more CFM. I've got ~600sqft of tile to remove this winter so the air chisel sounded like a good idea.

Bought this 235 set from Canadian Tire for Black Friday $99 + $10 for the extension set.

It's not too expensive to rent a demo hammer and, with ~600 sq/ft of tile to take out, I'd say it would be well worth it. It would take a big compressor to run the chisel continuously.. I'd be interested to see what you think of the quality of the tools overall after having them for a bit, I've been tempted by that kit.

fliptuner 12-02-2014 09:36 PM

I've only used air chisels in shops with big compressors/tanks but I can tell you from experience that die grinders go through A LOT of air. Most, if not all compressors with a 20gal tank, won't be able to keep up after 15-20 seconds of use.

Good thing I didn't open that Bosch drill and 2pack of Dewalt batteries I got from CT last week.

Summit is selling a Dewalt drill w/ 2 batts for $110. For most people, the Bosch is a better deal but since I already have other Dewalt tools, need a regular drill (old one was stolen) and have 2 dead batteries, this kills 2 birds with 1 stone. I'm pretty much stuck with this setup until I want to shell out some dough for whatever's good and current.

So if anyone wants this Bosch, I can sell it for what I paid $100+tax or just return it.

fliptuner 12-03-2014 09:42 AM

Only found the DCR018 for $100 at Summit Tools.

Godzira 12-03-2014 09:51 AM

That's the only one I've been able to find too..but it doesn't charge battery packs

If you're not already completely committed to the Dewalt line-up..

I've owned the Bosch, Dewalt, and Milwaukee, and the clear winner for me in terms of sound quality/features is the Bosch.

thanks, in that case I'll look into the Bosch radio a little more. I've seen it at home depot but I haven't heard anything about it if its worth it or not.

I love Home Depot!

I wait for great sales, then go to Home Depot where they not only match the price, but give you a further 10% off.

I just bought a Milwaukee magnetic through-hole nut driver set. KMS had them for sale in their 3-day sale flyer for $49.00. I got a metric one that KMS didn't have for 45 bucks.

My previous Home Depot purchase was a Milwaukee Fuel 12 volt impact driver kit for damn good price, plus 20% off, because chick who rang it up was a space cadet.

The price match is pretty simple, show them flyer or web page. Only conditions are, it has to be Canadian and product has to be in identical. Date is pretty important, as well. They will match on-line prices, too.

Canadian Tire has the Stanley Rolling Toolbox for sale $78.. for those who use power tools, it store them and accessories extremely well

The best deal at Canadian Tire this seasons looks to be the 122pc Stanley socket set for $47.99 (80% off). I'll be buying one set. The 3.5A electric impact wrench for $69.97 ($100 off) is a decent deal, too. It puts out 220ft/lbs of torque and that is enough to be useful in certain situations, especially simply swapping sets of wheels without over stressing the wheel studs.

Some of the items are cheaper than they were for the Black Friday sale.

For Cheap Dewalt Batterys' & Other Dewalt Items; I would go to the Factory Service Centre on Boundary.

How did the Milwaukee stand up in comparison?

Just bought the harbour freight 44inch tool chest. Didn't have to pay tax at the border either:woot2:

Usually the set is $269.99, and does not include the Torx Security Bits.

Great box. Best bang for the buck imo. I have the U.S. general tool cart at work and I love it.

Jas29 01-11-2015 10:49 PM

It seems a lot better built than the Homak one I had from costco

Lowes buy 1 get 1. 3rd page of the flyer
Lowe's Flyer | Lowe's Canada - Lowe's Canada

Edit:

Looking at getting new ratchets something that is fine tooth. I’m leaning towards the Snap on F80 or the Gearwrench XP120. Any suggestions I'm pretty open as long as they are full polished and not a flex head.

Need 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2"

dn53 01-17-2015 03:58 PM

IMO, snap on is the way to go for ratchets, never had a problem with any of mine and i love how fine their teeth are
