I would wait till something like this comes on sale.

Mastercraft 233-piece Socket Set | Canadian Tire

They have a weekly flyer you can check a new one comes out every Friday. This week they have a 100 piece screwdriver set you may be interested in its 75% off

Mastercraft Screwdriver Set, 100-Pc | Canadian Tire

These aren't the best tools but they get the job done and do come with a warranty

Edit:

Scroll through the Black Friday flyer. Pretty sure there's a torque wrench and breaker bar for sale.

If you are just looking for sockets is Mastercraft really that bad?

I was about to pull the trigger on an impact socket set but decided against.

But genuinely curious is there is an obvious advantage to using better quality sockets and extension such as snap on, Mac etc.

If you aren't a professional you won't have any problems with them.

The biggest problem with these sets are that the ratchets that come with them as they are usually coarse tooth compared to the more expensive fine tooth ratchets.

Dammit mb, I'm already potentially spending too much on this sale.

However, the only cordless I have is a Dewalt hammer drill with 2 batteries that need replacement (reg drill was stolen from a site). Reliability and price aside, just the difference in weight makes it worth it to pick up the Bosch.

Edit - Crap. I forgot I have the Dewalt 6" saw too. Ahh...whatever, more toys.

even the pro's use mastercraft stuff.. but they mainly use the mastercraft stuff to beat on. ie, using screwdrivers as chisels lol

The only time I would consider investing in MAC/Snap-On is if I used them day in, day out for work or needed them in a service truck.

For garage and hobby use, Mastercraft/Craftsman/Husky are fine, especially for things like impact sockets. I don't think I've ever broken one, even using 3/4" drives on 1/2" sockets.

Careful with newer Mastercraft screwdrivers, as the name is printed on the handle (not stamped), so when the ink wears out, you're screwed for warranty.

I know the feeling! The Bosch really is a steal though, I'll be buying one.

I need to pick up a new socket set too, as mine is missing several of the metric sizes. Any thoughts on which one to buy?

Kind of hard to beat +75% off:
Mastercraft 128-piece Socket Set | Canadian Tire

If you don't mind spending more, this one is all sockets and an impact driver:

So I bought 2 Dewalt 18V batts for $99 on sale. Pretty annoyed that it costs that much for 2400mah NiCad batteries when I also got that Bosch drill w/ 2 Li-ion batteries for $97.

Bought this socket set last weekend at Canadian Tire... still on sale right now for $109.99

Stanley FatMax 229 Piece Matte Black Socket Set | Canadian Tire

The cheapest it's ever been was $99.99 last year around this time, but I'm not sure it'll go back down to that price.

I wanted the socket set with the most number of actual sockets, and I think this is the one.

If you prefer to deal with KMS, they have the same kit for the same price.
https://www.kmstools.com/bosch-1-2-1...ss-drill-96205

It's not on their online flyer but the paper flyer lists it as $199 reg. @ 1/2 price, $99.95.

Same p/n as the one at CT.

Never buy any tools at CT that aren't at least 60% off. Also even if it isn't on sale you can go to customer service and ask them what the last sale price was, if you're nice they might give it to you.

Also Costco usually has 100 packs of latex gloves for $10, good for keeping things clean when you're working.

Grabbed the wobble extensions and some stepper drill bits, and one of these packages:

Mastercraft 71 Piece Air Tool Kit | Canadian Tire

Only problem is I don't know if my compressors are powerful enough.
