N-Motion Break-in

Just as an FYI guys, a Revscene sponsor was the target of a B&E last night. N-Motion is a long time sponsor of RS, and a great group of people work there.

Video of the event can be seen here:

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater

If anyone knows something, or sees blackvues, or stereo equipment popping up for sale cheap. Contact N-Motion at 604-419-8808. Or the Police.

They are offering a $10,000. Reward for catching these assholes.

Lets find these guys and have the RS beat down crew assemble on them.

SoundsGood has had recent break in problems as well. I wonder if it's the same crew that's involved in the thefts.

This part is funny. The break in however is not. May as well have Hansel and Gretal beat them up.

I feel really bad for the shop.

That said - this time of break & enter is exceedingly common an auto parts shops, etc., are frequently targeted because the product is highly desirable on the open market. Understand as well that much of this product would likely have been pre-sold by the thieves prior to the break-in occurring. Sitting on the stolen product is a tremendous liability.

I would encourage the shop to invest in lockable bollards for the space immediately outside the bay doors. The cost isn't low but the potential savings are massive. Core into the concrete, drop in the sleeve, and then the bollards sits (locked) in that when the bay isn't in use. It would prevent this type of B&E. It's the same reason you see bollards at the entrances to big box stores and shopping malls.

You'd install them outside the bay door, they are removable/lockable. That being said wouldn't thieves just cut the locks?

You can get ones that retract into the ground. But anyways, its not really up to the shop to install it. They are merely the tenant of the office/warehouse space.

surprised the security camera is so crappy :/ are the goods locked up in the shop or just left open in the back? not that it matters now I guess but for the future they may want to think about better cameras (more than 1 at that), locking up their products in a cage, and as mentioned the removable bollards

im also surprised these guys were using wheeled trash cans seems like they're experienced

i'd suggest exterior CCTV camera(s) too.

Might provide a better ID of the vehicle in this case, but that's about it. I agree with nsx, the shape of the tail lights suggests Caravan/Voyager to me. Not that that helps much without a plate.

Cameras look like a cheap Costco setup - excessive IR and too-narrow FOV.

Most people who break-in to shops like this will do so with a stolen vehicle anyway. So it won't do much good even if you have the plate.

True enough, although if it at least leads to the vehicle's home, that might give the police another area to look for the perps... someone around there may have useful video of it being stolen, for example. Long shot of course, but more information is always better...

not to hate on N-Motion, I've been a customer of them. But for a shop that sells car security systems with high end dash cams their in house security cam is horrible! I hope they upgrade it to quality of the products they sell. If it was a color HD, I'm sure a plate would've been possible.

I hope all the car shops share the info to bring these dbags to justice!
