long story short, my girlfriend is tired of having a bike that can't keep up with her gixxer, so we decided i should upgrade to a larger bike. copypasta from craigslist.

for sale is my 1979 kawasaki kh100 EL. its a fantastic bike (with one problem) that i am looking to sell so i can get a bike that can keep up with my girlfriends gixxer
- 1979 kawasaki kh100 EL
- 100cc single cylinder, 2 stroke
- 5 speed transmission
- front and rear drum brakes (they work surprisingly well)
- just rolled over 17,000km (very low for the bike being 35 years old)
- painted to match my road bike in gulf racing colours
- yes, it can go on the highway (100km/h+)
- fantastic city bike that gets looks everywhere
- new tires, spark plug and lead, new battery, new led rear light, fuel filter etc
- relined the gas tank
- bottle style oil tank
the bad
- after about 30 minutes of continuous riding, it starts to hiccup and cough and lose power. it is not over heating (as i can unglove my hand and touch the fins on the engine without burning myself). it is getting proper fueling and even when it starts juttering it will idle just fine. if you shut it off for 5 minutes and start it again (it always kicks right away) it will go running for another 15-20 minutes before it does it again. it has never seized and has never refused to start.
- the seat is a quick diy job as i couldn't decide whether to go with a brat style or cafe fibreglass one
extra
- stock handlebars with clip on touring windshield
- two sets of stock mirrors
- original oil container
- plastic oil covers
- original tool kit
im a keen weekend mechanic, but my knowledge of 35 year old 2 stroke motors is limited.
anyways, like i said before i really love this bike and obviously put a lot of work into it. my girlfriend though is getting somewhat frustrated with me and is going to get me into a larger bike. i am firm on $1800 but i welcome test rides around my neighborhood. its an awesome little bike that anyone will enjoy
