Also if you're into waffles, Wanna Waffle is also a good place for dessert. You can usually smell the place before you see it if you're walking through Johnson street.
You can check out High Rock Park which has a nice view at the top. It's a place I was always taken to as a kid and its was fun just climbing up to the top, its a very easy walk to the top that even elderly people are able to do.

The kids would probably like Miniature world (under the empress)

FYI Red Fish Blue Fish is closed for the season.
A couple of other family friendly restaurant recommendations:

John's Place (best bennies in the city IMO), Pagliaccis, The Pink Bicycle, Floyd's Diner

Pig's pulled pork sucks pretty hard though.

Bard and Banker is kid friendly until 9PM. One of my favourite spots in Victoria.
Bard & Banker Scottish Pub - Downtown Victoria BC

Hatley Castle... do the tour that includes the gardens.

IMO, the garden tour is actually BETTER than the Butchart Gardens, because you get a guide to show you the gardens beside Hatley Castle.

Oh... and a great site for car pictures... OOOOH YEAHHHH. Took some there on two different occasions with 2 different cars.

-------------------------------

Craigdorroch (spelling) "Castle" - a little spooky?

------------------------------

The Butterfly Gardens (forgot the correct name) near the Butchart Gardens

---------------------------

Have fuN!

Spoiler!
Thats what that place is called, I totally forgot about it. One day I went on a walking ghost tour in Victoria and after the tour we stumbled upon this place. Sat upstairs over looking the stage and they had some pretty good live music going on, which is what brought us into that place in the beginning.

The Sticky Wicket.... i think its attached to Bard and Banker I believe. but its good for food.

Also good is the Mint for good thai food. and Thigh food jksrsnotsrs.

everything fun is has lost funding or is closed down that i remember as a kid, tour the parliament building, if they don't do tours anymore you should be able to just walk in and walk around.

the aquarium is pretty dope, the one by the water. it will be chillier than van so make sure the little ones dress warm.

Bard & Banker is pretty good.

The ice rink outside the Empress should be up soon if it's not already.

Lots of museums.

Horse carriage rides through the city (not sure if they only do this during the summer)

I love the Bard, used to go there every other weekend. I didn't know it was kid friendly (I never saw any kids in there)

Sticky wicket is about 2 blocks away from the Bard. Good food as well, it's part of the Strathcona hotel.

The outdoor ice rink at the empress is now open!

Just wanted to update..
we went to bug museum..a hit with the kids
royal bc museum..great place well worth staying for a few hours.
craigdorrough castle smaller than I thought but still cool
lure restaurant was great kids ate free
also did john's place for breakfast
and hit up this little sandwich joint for lunch forgot the name.
we also hit the empress ice rink definitely cool.
It was busier for us than I though especially with two babies so didn't get to hit as much places as we wanted.
also on the way back we hit the shaw ocean discovery place...guys if you're spoiled by the van aquarium just skip this place...but if you've never been to one it's pretty cool.

Oh and hatley castle the locals told us to skip it because the school had made a lot of areas off limits. ..

We were going to eat at the bard but ended up having to go back to the hotel because one of the babies had a shitplosion that leaked ended up having to go to target and I'll tell you one thing the target there has so much more inventory on the floor than the ones out here

I went to a wedding at Hatley castle and a few of us drunken adventurers found a passage up to the turrets. Super cool up there!

That's quite the trip they had, I'm glad you guys had a blast. Also glad you made full use of the weekend there and that god awful ferry price.

Next time don't forget your other son...
