| Mazda 3 Vs Honda Civic
I am confused choosing between these two car. This will be my first car. I will buy an used car preferably between $7000-8000 budget (I know it's not a good one but that much I can afford now). I will use the car for pleasure travel.
Which one should I get? What should be the maximum odometer limit that I mustn't cross. I am newbie so need your expert opinion
Also feel free to suggest a dealer/seller.

You should budget at least half of your "car funds" into repairs/unexpected break downs (if you haven't already).
A vehicle that runs well with good service history (and records) will be more important than the mileage in most cases. Generally a car should have 15-25k KM a year. Make sure to get a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) done by a trusted mechanic. If you do not know of any, BCAA is a good place to start. I found that they find many things that some of my old go-to mechanics couldn't find..
Good luck!

Budget of $8,000.00 for the purchase of the car only? Keep in mind when you buy a used vehicle for that price it will generally need a good bit of maintenance. Likely tires, belts, fluids, general crap. Have you budgeted for that stuff seperately?

OP: The Civic is the better buy, unless you are looking for the 2.3L GT (a little more peppy at 160hp and tiptronic transmission) and tend to be cheaper/easier to find if you are looking for one with a leather interior.

Despite your lack of will to search for a used car, at least provide some specs as to what you require.
TRANSMISSION, INTERIOR, EXTERIOR, MILEAGE, MAX BUDGET BEFORE OR AFTER TAX, ETC.

TRANSMISSION, INTERIOR, EXTERIOR, MILEAGE, MAX BUDGET BEFORE OR AFTER TAX, ETC. | I'm searching but I'm not sure what would I get in this budget. What's the bargaining scope with dealers or owners?
Transmission - Auto
Int/Ext - Don't care
Mileage - suggest please!
Budget - 8k before tax
I am not in a hurry, so I can wait for a good deal |

^ Used to see that Civic parked on Boundary near 22nd all the time. The callipers were orange too from over spray iirc if that's any indication of how the previous owner treated the car lol
