just got back from a long trip away and need to get my phone going again....i plan on leaving again for another long trip later this year so i don't really want to lock into a 2+ year plan
any recommendations?
voice and 3gb would probably be good

Check coverage maps for Wind and Mobilicity and see if it suits you. Their unlimited plans are good value if you don't need extended coverage.

I had an awful experience with Wind. Terrible reception and range. But could be ok I guess if you don't travel too far.
I'm with Virgin, month to month, might be pricey to get that much data, but they are the Bell network and I haven't had any issues.

Fido $49 plan, 750mb is more than enough for light use (just don't stream video)
i think it's 10% off if you're not on contract

As a multi carrier dealer, when I had a Fido customer coming in for a sim card change, i got out right denied assistance on dealer support because of a BC number on a Saskatchewan plan.

No problem with fido yet.. I was on the koodo version, then switched to the fido version...
I switched because I read that Rogers was going to invest 450million over the next few years to improve their western canada networks... So Im betting on this to be better then belus network combined..
Both are good... Coverage wise, belus is better.. speed wise, I find rogers to be a bit better... so hopefully with this upgrade, it would set them apart...
So as long as my next phone uses a micro sim, im golden.. lol...
