Unfortunately that's the only thing about this show that's better than GoT.
That's not really a fair comparison. It's not really trying to be an Asian version of GoT.
From what I personally gather, it feels like it's just trying to be on par with other period pieces like The Borgias (both), or Rome. (However, I think Rome is much much better than both GoT and definitely Marco Polo)
My AFC gave me an ABS CEL code of LOL while at WOT!

I know the actress Olivia Cheng, I think she plays Mei Ling. Local actress doing well!
Unfortunately I agree, I've only watched the first episode, and it was slow as fuck.
The acting is pretty rough across the board, the lead actor who plays Marco lacks charisma or likeability, and as much I love naked women, the orgy scene at the end felt manipulative in keeping me watching the series (because bewbs), but there isn't enough substance or action so far to keep me interested.
There are too many plot lines in the first ep, so I don't give a fuck if Khan's son is attacking a village and will likely die, because we've barely got to know him.
This is something that GoT struggles with; anyone who watches that show will say that there are certain plot lines that no ones cares about (ie the red woman, crippled Bran etc)

Pretty entertaining if you abandon all logic and just enjoy it for what it is. I think Polo was the weakest character, didn't really care for what happened to him because he really serves no purpose to the story. Also, it would've been better if dialogue was spoken in Mongolian and Mandarin with subtitles. Khan's son's Australian accent really bugged me
I just finished watching episode 4, not really impressed. I don't find myself itching to watch the next episode.
Spoiler!
- As mentioned in a post above, Marco lacks charisma and I often find myself not caring what he does in the show. I'm more interested in the other characters.
- Jingim annoys the shit out of me lol, his acting sucks and whines too much
- The relationships all seem really forced and out of place.
1) Marco makes eye contact with the Blue Princess for all of 3 seconds and all of a sudden he's deeply in love with her, risking himself and starts stabbing strangers to protect her.
2) Kublai's infatuation with Marco, isn't he supposed to be some ruthless warlord? All of a sudden he's killing random loyal servants to protect Marco.
3) The wrestler chick meets Marco and suddenly they have a quickie behind a tent.
- The girl with the most boob time isn't all that attractive. The extras in the orgy scenes are all pork chops. Everyone else bangs fully clothed wtf haha. I hope the wrestler chick gets nekkid.
WTF?!... lol the end of the episode was literally one of the dumbest scenes I've ever seen ... so the sister fails to put the poison on Khan, so she decides to attack him in the middle of the festival when he is the most heavily guarded?!?!... she would have like a thousand chances to just slit his throat while in the room.

Wait for episode 9 LOL there's something worse than that

Fuck you're so right LOL! Just forced myself to finish it. This series actually makes me want to ...
At the directing... there is next to zero character development so when people die it's like "meh". The ending is super weak too ...
Spoiler!
- Why in the blue hell did million eyes not unleash his Mantis style during the assassination attempt?!
- So they send the ONLY WHITE GUY in the country to infiltrate the walled city, good plan.
- I guess Yusuf volunteered to get trampled to death cuz he suddenly has a mancrush on Marco too (just like everyone in this entire show, apparently he's just that inexplicably charming).
- How did the Blue Princess become a born-again Virgin?!
