| 2015 Aprilia RSV-4 RR and Aprilia RSV-4 RF
YUM!!! I love the retro-90s graphics look! 2015 Aprilia RSV-4 RF Looks like Aprilia got the "update your superbike" memo, along with everyone else. The company that just carried Sylvain Guintoli to a World Superbike title on Sunday, released an updated RSV-4 RR and RSV-4 RF on Tuesday at the EICMA show.
Although the 2015 Aprilia RSV-4 RR looks similar to the previous iteration, it actually has a number of changes. The 999 cc V4 engine will now make 201 horsepower and 84.4 foot-pounds of torque. That's a 17 horsepower bump over the current model, thanks to an all-new airbox, injectors, intake ducts, redesigned heads, and titanium valves with new valve springs. 2015 Aprilia RSV-4 RR. The 2015 version is also three pounds lighter, for a wet weight of 449 pounds.
Though it doesn't look like it, the front end has been completely redesigned. The front fairing and headlight are new, and now include an LED parking light. New mirrors have built-in turn signals. The APRC system, Aprilia's electronics package that includes traction control, wheelie control, launch control and quick shifter, has also been reworked. Aprilia is calling the version on this bike a second generation, but they've yet to release information on what that means.
The swingarm is new and 14 mm longer than its predecessor, though the rest of the chassis remains unchanged.
For those of you who just can't get down the road without all the bells and whistles, Aprilia is releasing the 2015 Aprilia RSV-4 RF. 2015 Aprilia RSV-4 RF The RSV-4 RF adds Aprilia's Race Package, which includes Ohlins suspension, forged aluminum wheels, and super-special graphics. (Who am I kidding? I actually really like them.)
We're still waiting to hear pricing and release dates, and you can be sure we'll be looking for more information on Aprilia's second-generation APRC.
