Lexus LFA

OpenRoad Lexus of Richmond is selling a used LFA. The ultimate Japanese hyper car with a super limited production 1/500. First used one I've seen come for sale in BC.
They have it priced aggressively at $400,000 and it looks absolutely stunning in white. It's been driven some with 12,000km on the odometer.

So with all things being equal, which car do you choose Aventador or LFA?

IMO gotta take the Lexus. Rarity factor, car sounds so nice, investment potential 1/500 no more ever produced.

Spoiler!

Definitely LFA before Aventador.

It will hold on to its value unless Lexus comes out with new LFAs.

And there are probably a few dozen Aventador already in town. LFA is much rarer.

But I think it's a tad expensive at 400k. there's one on eBay with 1xx miles on the clock at 379k USD OBO.

Too bad it's totally out of my available funds. If they ever lower it to around 300k, I might consider selling some stocks for it. I mean, it might be a better investment overall in the long run.

I can see its value to increase in 10~15 years.

400k? I'm sorry nothing against Lexus but im heading straight to states to pickup a Carrera GT, prices for that car will only go up aswell.

mb_ 12-18-2014 08:12 AM

$400K CDN for a used LFA is right where I thought it would be for a used one. Too bad that doesn't mean anything since I can't afford it :alone:

I've driven an Aventador before and as nice of a car it is, I'd take an LFA. There's only like 3 in Vancouver?

Pricing seems reasonable considering the rarity of the car. If I had lotto money I'd buy that car in a split second. I'm sure if you walked in with $375k cash they would have a conversation with you and entertain it.

Manic! 12-18-2014 11:51 AM

Paris Hilton owns one. That's reason enough not to own one.

Also there is one for sale on Ebay: Lexus Other LFA | eBay

Gucci Mane 12-18-2014 11:56 AM

limited production numbers will only send the value of the car through the roof in a few years time.

InvisibleSoul 12-18-2014 12:55 PM

USD 380,000 is about CAD440,000 right now... so $400,000 is a good price!

3 white, 1 blue, 2 red. black one was for sale in kelowna while ago.

for 400K I would buy something classic. Ferrari Daytona or a Lambo Countach. New supercars are so mainstream now, they're almost boring...

Does anyone have info. on LFA and Aventador comparison tests?

This is a Motor Trend video of a comparison test, but between the MP412-C vs. the LFA.

I would choose the McLaren MP4.

and Justin Biber owns Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari 458 Italia, what's your point? :suspicious:

You're trying to tell us that you like Justin Bieber than Paris Hilton or what?

According to Lexus, they sent 15 LFAs to Canada and 150 to the USA.

^ 3 continuous post from Timpo, and not a single word about the GTR being faster :notbad::drunk:

New models doesn't matter. As long as not the SAME model. Basically for LFA to hold its value, Lexus has to forget about ever producing another car named "LFA".

Think it as Ferrari F40, F50 and Enzo.

Sure Ferrari came out with supercars one after another, but the previous limited edition cars pretty much all increased in value substantially comparing to their original price tag.

As for the US LFA, it has a much lower mileage and the price is OBO. Even at its full asking, it's still relatively a better deal if you are looking to invest and sell it to collectors 10 years down the road.

tofu1413 12-19-2014 12:03 AM

400k........

probably pick up three different air cooled 911's :fuckthatshit:

Lexus claimed they were going to be selective on who they sold the car too.

since Lexus says it will be selective about whom it will sell to—car collectors and high-profile individuals who use the car rather than park it—the LFA should raise the cachet of the brand as a whole.

blah blah. Lexus is not Ferrari. They don't really have a collector client base like Ferrari and McLaren do. The average Lexus buyer is a retired American citizen or a trophy housewife, and because of that it's hard for Lexus to establish a "high profile" client base in such a short period of time.

This car sold last week. Great guy :) chatted to him about RevScene so hopefully he's signed up and will come to a meet lol. But at least we can expect to see it driving the streets of Vancouver. He has a beautiful nsx as well :)

death_blossom 01-10-2015 08:09 AM

400k seems fair for what is going to be a future collectible. isn't that the approximate retail price of those cars when new?

NotRevSeen 01-22-2015 06:36 PM

This car sold at the dealership just awhile back and now presumably the new owner has it for sale privately :suspicious:

The ODO shows in miles and ad says it's US car.

Was the LFA from dealer also a US car?

xjc11 01-22-2015 10:06 PM

Comparison between aventador and lfa doesn't seem fair since aventador isn't really a "limited" production car.

Better comparison would be LP670-4 SV vs LFA

If I had 400k (which I don't ::okay:) I would take a SV though. Can't go wrong with that V12 sound.

v_tec 01-22-2015 10:22 PM

saucywoman if you're comfortable with revealing, what was the final selling price of the LFA?
