Completely hands free Android? The other day during rush hour at Willingdon and Canada Way I witnessed police ticketing drivers for phone use. It got me thinking of if it's possible to go 100% hands free for the tasks I need in the car. On my Nexus 5 in the car,I use TomTom GPS, Fongo phone service, WhatsApp/similar chat apps, and the stock Music player. Is there an app or change I can introduce to voice control all of these things? |
Google Now? it has integrate sms, email, etc for google apps mostly. It can open other apps but you wont get it all in one go. i.e Ok Google Text "name" "whatever your msg" then google will send the text unless you have more then 1 person with same name or have multiple numbers in 1 contact... but this will only use reg sms... you can tell google to open whatsapp but you cant automate it, unless you press the mic button and then speak... I use this all the time... lol and its been available since forever... |
I love google now for making phone calls without needing to look at anything |
Yeah unfortunately I'm on a data only plan (no voice/text), so I use the Fongo app for calls and WhatsApp/Kakao/LINE for text. I guess full voice integration across all apps is near impossible. |
thats right... still can use it partially... |
At least for my Nexus 5 I still have to swipe to unlock the pattern or turn the phone on. From there I can at least start off with "OK Google" with "Turn Bluetooth On" so that it connects with my car's bluetooth automatically. Then the "Listen to Music" afterwards. |
You're whatsapp'ing in your car? Are these conversation so important that you can't put the person/people on hold until you get to your destination? |
