I woke up last Tuesday with a bitter taste in my mouth... the race itself was so incredibly exciting I lost sight of the fact that Rossi could potentially have harmed his championship odds, regardless of Lorenzo crashing out. I have clearly become very emotionally invested in Rossi's charge to the championship otherwise I wouldn't have felt quite like this...
PS ~ Saturday this week we have F1 and then MotoGP on Sunday! It's one of the double-whammy weekends of the year that you have to circle on your calendar!

I have tremendous respect for Marquez. He was clearly upset after crashing out (especially so early) but during the race they interviewed him and he apologized to his fans and his team and took complete responsibility for the crash. Very classy.

Feels wierd. Rossi may still lead in points but feels like the season is done for him now. And as much as I want to support and give cred to Lorenzo, he makes for such boring races every single time he wins - although that's not really his fault and more of a statement of how good he really is.

Werd. Mucho respeto. It's because of that, that I hope when he hangs it up, his legacy will surpass Stoner's and even Lorenzo's. Always looking inwardly at his mistakes and errors rather than externally.

I completely agree with you. I feel the same way about Rossi. I want desperately for him to win but for the past 4 -5 races I have felt little confidence that he would be able to hang out as Lorenzo just surges and surges and surges behind him in the points standings.
The Misano race may haunt Rossi ... Lorenzo crashes out and due to bad strategy he finished fifth. Unless Rossi qualifies ahead of Lorenzo in any of the remaining races I don't see him taking any additional podiums.
I also completely agree with you about Marquez. I love his humility and I hope his legacy remains strong. He is young and should contend for many more years.

VERY EXCITING RACE! Yet another race that was greatly and significantly impacted by the weather and tire selection!
After Lorenzo pulled about a 3.5-ish second lead earlier I didn't think there was any chance (short of a crash) that Rossi was going to finish ahead of his teammate.
Congrats to Pedrosa! A win in 10 consecutive years and 50th of his career!
Rossi now leads Lorenzo by 18 points in the standings with a maximum of 75 available from the remaining three rounds, in Australia, Malaysia and Valencia, Spain.

Just praying that Rossi can keep getting ahead of Lorenzo earlier rather than later. Once Jorge gets that early lead he just goes into robot mode.
The only knock i've ever had against Lorenzo though is when he gets over taken from the lead he tends to have the wind taken out of his sail completely. Almost like he doesn't care to put in any more effort to fight back for position again. Other than that love watching the Yamaha tandem.
GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phillip Island, the self-styled home of Australian motorsport, is steeped in motor racing tradition, with the first car races having been held there on public roads in the 1920s. The first motorcycle races took place in 1931 and a permanent track was built in 1956. The circuit fell into disrepair during the late 70s and early 80s until it was bought in 1985 and given a AUS $5m facelift. MotoGP returned in 1989 and 1990 before becoming a regular fixture once more from 1997 onwards.
The Phillip Island circuit is blessed with breathtaking scenery and beautiful ocean views and, as one of the fastest, most fluid, tracks on the calendar, it continues to provide some of the most spectacular racing in the MotoGP season.
Completely and totally agree ... BEST RACE OF 2015
Heart-pounding action for the ENTIRE RACE.... I'm simply floored by how entertaining that race was!!
A track like this completely reinforces the difference in top-end power between the Ducatis, Hondas and Yamaha bikes.
Marquez winning in the last lap was HUGELY beneficial to Rossi's title hopes. Marquez stripped valuable points away from Lorenzo.
“It's a great shame. I'm not happy. Especially not to be on the podium because this was a great race: From beginning to end a very, very hard rhythm, a lot of overtaking, a lot of different riders. It was a real 'Phillip Island old style' race,” said Rossi, speaking in the paddock on Sunday evening.
“It was a shame also to unfortunately lose seven points on Jorge, especially because my speed was very, very good today in the race and I can also arrive in front.
