Anyone got spare coilover spanner wrenches? Can't seem to find mine. Pm me price

Anyone got a bmw hose clamp tool? For stuff like taking off the hose clamp on the power steering lines ffs

I managed to pry the one (pictured) on the return line off, but can't use the same method (multiple flat heads and pliers) for the pressure hose https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d42bd6e5d0.jpg

^^ Use a set of GOOD side-cutters, and cut the crimped section (roughly 12 o'clock in your photo) to release those clamps. They are one-use-only.

Oo, that saved me from having to search for this thread :lol

Does anyone happen to have a car tent I could borrow? Have a bunch of work I have to do on my car in a couple weeks but I no longer have a garage or carport to do the work in. And this weather is not conducive to outside work... :okay:

Tuesday + Thursday through the weekend is supposed to be decent

Yeah, that's a nice surprise. Last box of my multi-part shipment from Rock Auto wont be here until Wednesday, so at least I should have a few days of decent weather.

I miss having a garage.

Anyone have a spill free funnel I could borrow? Going to have to replace my radiator and all the Youtube vids I've seen seem to recommend using one of these.

Anyone have an e46 RTAB tool or spring compressors? Gonna try to get the full refresh done and CT Richmond/Van doesn't have it for rent or sale.

Somewhat along the same lines but does someone have a hose clamp tool I could borrow for literally 5 minutes? Gonna change the hoses while I'm doing my radiator, but I'm having a hell of a time removing the damn spring type clamps that Honda uses.

One like this

How about one of these?

Before I purchased the Knipex, I used these and they worked well........... sort of.

I also have a set of super long needle nose pliers - straight, 45 and 90.

That might work, though it's in an awkward position where it's not easily reachable. I tried getting at it with a pair of pliers and because of the positioning, I couldn't get a good grip on the tabs. Do you have one of those MG1? I'd certainly be willing to give it a try.

MG1 07-26-2018 06:10 AM

I have both types. Where and when would you like to meet up? PM

jing 07-26-2018 06:45 AM

Wish I had a pair of those recently when I was fixing my washer recently! Spring clamps are a bish to do especially in a tight space.

What worked for me is to zip tie the clamp which compressed it just enough to get my linesman pliers around it. Depending on access you can forego that method entirely and use a nice pair of needle nose pliers as well but it is difficult to get a good grip.
What I found to have worked quite well was to zip tie the clamp and then use my linesmans.

Anyone have a 6” long shaft carbide burr I can rent?. Using on cast steel, cylindrical, or some sort of egg/flame shape is fine. Just ordered a set online and I guess it’s coming from China. jan22-mar22 delivery date. Can’t justify buying one locally now.

What are you working on? There's a super cool guy a few minutes away, that may have what you need. Not 6" though cause Asian.

Lol. Porting out my cast manifold. Steel, not iron. I did most of the work with my stubbys, but need the African model for them hard to reach spots.

Does anyone have a portable battery jump starter that I can borrow for a few hours or a day?

Just came back from a vacation and had my second car parked for 3 months. The engine started fine prior to that but now wont even click when I turn the ignition. Tried to jump start it with my other vehicle but the engine wont turn on or click but electronics work slightly. Im thinking the battery might not be able to hold a charge from having it parked for that long and battery corroded a bit is a possibility I read from the internet.. A quick search online tells me to scrub the terminals with extremely hot water mixed with baking soda. Another says pour coca cola over the terminal. What would u guys recommend and if anyone has a portable battery jump starter kit I could borrow, please pm me.

Thank you.

hud 91gt 01-10-2019 12:29 PM

If it won’t start with another car it won’t start with the portable starter.

Get a new battery.

Did you put the negative clamp on the body of the dead car (a good ground not part of the battery), like you are supposed to?

That usually does the trick.

PS don't waste good Coke on a fucking car, man. Use Pepsi, instead. Just saiyan............

At first I put it on a bolt that was on the inside of the interior hood but it was raining quite heavily that day and sparked quite a bit. I thought it was because it was wet so I looked it up online. It said that I should try the hook that holds the hood up and so I did. Ill keep the pepsi in mind in case I decide to go down that route.

MG1 01-10-2019 06:26 PM

BTW, I do have a portable starter. Actually three of the lithium types (Noco) and a traditional type with lead acid battery. If you still require one.

For these applications, this is your friend:

I have one and it has paid for itself in money I didn't need to put in the swear jar when getting at those hard to reach clamps, especially with the locking mechanism.

MG1 01-11-2019 11:46 AM

Yup, I've got one, too. Got it a few months ago. Made by Astro Pneumatics. Purchased it right after the post by syee. The Ridgeline and Fit needs work. One of those tools you wish you had.

Anyone in the Langley/Willowbrook area have bolt cutters I can use sometime this week for 15 seconds? It's probably not worth the drive so I'm more than happy to pick up and drop off.

...Girlfriend threw out the key to our storage locker...
