i'm always amazed how many aircraft manufacture are there around the world.
countries that don't even make cars/motorcycle make aircrafts, if you include kit planes and all that, there are just sooo many of them.

That's retarded... the last Ford GT was produced 05-06 and still sells for over $200k usd on the used market.

and BRAND NEW Ford GT was much less than $200k.

2005 Ford GT MSRP: $139,995
2006 Ford GT MSRP: $149,995

Additional $13,500 for premium package: McIntosh sound system, racing stripes, painted brake calipers and forged alloy wheels.

Even Ford was saying "Carrera GT performance for 1/3 of the price"
so the question is, the 1st gen Ford GT could be had for $139k, why are they raising it to $400k?
maybe they saw the market was willing to pay much more than what they anticipated.

Considering Lexus LFA sold out in no time at $400k, I think this will sell too.

If Ford follows suit with the previous generation then Timpo is right(did I just say that?), they should position themselves at the $200k(ish) mark to undercut the other vehicles in that performance category. Although, I don't believe any of the 05-06 GT's sold for MSRP; they were all way over that since it was such a limited release vehicle. And they climbed north of $200k pretty quick too.

Nobody bought at MSRP, they were sold at huge premiums. As usual, the question wasn't asking you to recite some stupid cunty Wikipedia answer that we all could have found seeing as we have the same Google you do. The question was what this car will ACTUALLY sell for which =/= MSRP.

We are however in this thread discussing MSRP, so I don't think your cunty reply was necessary at all.

What segment should it fit into tho? The premium sports car 250-350k Gallardo/ huracan, 458, 650s? Or the exotic market at 400-800k?

I'm not sure if it's a super exotic, I think it's a sports car. And if so, the 400k price tag puts it at the top of the class

So a few months ago I visited another local Ford dealership and the salesman gave me a "Ford Performance-Innovation through performance" poster, that'd be nice to frame. Basically, all the high-spec models are there including the GT.

The poster makes the GT look even wider than the Raptor! Not even sure if it be enjoyable for driver or, for that matter, even the passenger dicking around for what seems to be tighter and tighter parking.

Back to the poster, it's a reminder of 25 years ago when Dodge had a similar ad. Viper, Diablo, Stealth were as gnarly as you can get, yet, even the Spirit R/T was pretty neat! Not sure why Dodge suddenly appeared so good back then, but Ford seems to deservedly have merit to offer so many high-spec(end) models. A lot has changed since 2005-2006 and many history-buffs could easily support Ford's case and direction.

At first, asked the senior advisor if it was a quarter mill. Almost blushed, then told him need to buy an RV, then we will talk about it later!

Interested in owning a Ford GT? Don't contact a dealer. Ford will only direct sell to the customer. The online customer application opens on Wednesday, April 13, to cover the first two years of global production - 500 vehicles. Canadian customers interested in being considered for the option to purchase a Ford GT will have 30 days to submit an application at http://buff.ly/1XucXyd before the application period closes on Thursday, May 12 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
The Ford GT will be built in Canada! Only 250 will be built per year! This is your opportunity to own a legend!!

This is stupid. First you got idiots waiting in line for hours to buy shoes that are mass produced in China. Now you got Millionaires begging to be able to buy a car that costs over 400K.

Ford will only sell to people who currently own a Ford GT and they also want copies of the registration papers to every other Ford owned vehicle that owner has. Because the car will be sold in such low numbers they want these cars going to die hard Ford enthusiasts only. Not someone who has a LaFerrari, P1, and 918, etc in the garage. We have sent in two applications one of which the applicant has a barn full of Ford only collector cars.

Ford wants the buyer to purchase the vehicle directly from them because what happened the first time was the dealers were selling the vehicles for up to $100,000 over MSRP. Doing it this way will stop that from happening. It is also illegal in BC to sell a new vehicle over MSRP but I cant speak for other provinces or states. In Canada we are also expected to pay $500-600k.
