if you're going to grind them all at once anyway, why not just buy a $100 grinder that's far better than yours and use it every time to grind the entire bag if you hate grinding so much? better than having to drive out somewhere to do it every few weeks. or if you always buy your bag from the same place then just ask them to grind it for you after you purchase it? |
I had been buying the illy cans from Costco, and I ran out and I couldn't find them last time. So I bought JJ bean where they would grind for me, but the prices are a little higher than I would like now (inflation) so I am thinking of getting the big costco bags and those should last me about 3 months at a time. I don't mind going out to get them grinded once a month than having another largish appliance at home. |
I don't know of any place that would grind beans you bring in. Just seems like a liability waiting to happen. Almost all roasters sell pre-grinded stuff, but it won't be as cheap as your Costco bags. I suddenly remembered how Superstore used to have that machine that would grind beans you buy from the bulk section, lol. I would really recommend you buy a grinder and just bust it out every couple of months. Just keep in mind that the beans found on retail shelves are generally darker roasts, so you'll probably need to clean the grinder more often. |

yeah those costco beans are pretty oily, if i were a coffee shop i wouldnt want those through my $5000 mahlkonig gunking up the burrs. if you dont care about grind quality and want to take it to a grocery store then i don't see why you wouldn't just use your own crappy grinder that you already have. |

You forgot to list your reno that was centered around your coffee station |
holy shit Duke's coffee getup is worth more than all my shitty appliances combined. |
Bahaha... with gears like that, it's kinda hard to believe that you are getting out of the coffee scene due to "inflation". Last time I checked, a pound of good single origin can be had for less than $30... even some fancy Panama Geisha is no more than $200. Sounds to me like an upgrade is in the plan... what are you moving up to? Leva X? Kees Idrocompresso?! :fuckthatshit: |

For instant coffee, I use a 10 y/o Tassimo machine and have a jar of UCC 117 coffee at my work desk. Those Japanese pour-overs that drape over the cup caught my eye too so I'll wait for it to go on sale. Nescafe intense is by far the best flavor of instant aside from UCC. Shoppers and Superstore carry presidents choice tassimo pucks, including cappuccino with the separate milk pucks but I'm worried that one day they'll stop selling it. I feel like I bought into the Betamax of coffee machines |
Switching to a Nespresso. Everything's gotta go! |

Inflation's a bitch. Do what you gotta do. |
a&w keeps advertising that their coffee is good; i should go try it. But me not being a huge coffee drinker, i probably cant even tell whats good vs whats bad. I think Vietnamese coffee is good. Cafe du mond (i like the dui part) or trung nguguguguyen coffee. |
Imo in terms of actual coffee there’s Starbucks, and then everything else in the fast food world is at least a tier below Had Tim hortons for the first time in probably years on Sunday. Don’t know how you even call it Coffee lol |
are you being a starfucks snob!?!!? psssshhhhh.... get a load of this guy...... thats like saying you prefer something other than basic transportation. Like how dare you like a car more sensible than a corolla or a civic!? ELITIST SWINE ! |

For Starbucks I feel like their Pike Place is legitimately good coffee and a fine option if I’m not near a “real” coffee shop lol One thing I always do when travelling in order to find good coffee is look up reviews for places on google and find a place that does Latte art. Generally, if they are doing latte art, they have decent coffee in my experience |
