LEXUS GS F

looks like orange is the new red for brake calipers...

Quote:

Developed to rival the BMW M5 and other high-performance mid-size sedans, the GS F has a naturally aspirated V8 5.0-liter engine outputting 467 bhp (348 kW) and 389 lb-ft (527 Nm) of torque channeled to the wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

am i the only one that thinks that all lexus models looks the same

dared3vil0 01-13-2015 07:44 AM

New lexuses just don't do it for me anymore. Previous gen IS was the best looking. Too bad they had to facelift all for the sake of face lifting.

donjalapeno 01-13-2015 10:37 AM

^ i don't mind the current IS but the taillights are super messed up....I don't understand why it swoops down towards the rear fender.

Looks so awkward from the side.

Wants to compete with the M5 et al., uses the same engine as the RCF:fuckthatshit:

Would have been a competitive power spec in 2006

+1
Maybe if their designs looked decent to begin with, I'd give it a second look and try to differentiate them. But that damn grill . . . :heckno:

TOPEC 01-13-2015 01:20 PM

interesting to see how lexus has stayed with NA engines while all the competitor vehicles have gone TC/SC for sometime alrdy.

nsx042003 01-13-2015 01:38 PM

a little disappointed at the v8. Thought for sure they'd do something to make it 550hp+ to compete. instead...

ah well...looks like all the guys that were hoping for something nice to upgrade to from the ISF won't be doing it anytime soon

white rocket 01-13-2015 01:47 PM

I'm a sucker for Lexus/Toyota. Their lowest recall rating, reliability, longevity and fit/finish far out way styling cues for me so I'm in. I dig it.

Bahhbeehhaaaa 01-13-2015 03:07 PM

am i the only one who thinks this is under powered? But i'll still pick it up for the reliability.

Timpo 01-13-2015 05:21 PM

:suspicious: wants to compete with M5?

Lexus GS-F
5.0L V8 NA
467 hp
389 lb-ft

BMW M5
4.4L V8 Twin-Turbo
560 hp
502 lb-ft

so the GS-F has 93hp and 113lb-ft less than the M5

radioman 01-13-2015 05:53 PM

I heard it wad down 400lbs on the m5

AzNightmare 01-13-2015 09:00 PM

Still can't stand that fugly huge ass grill.
I swear, this is the ONLY vehicle that looks better WITH a license plate slapped right in the middle of the bumper.

StylinRed 01-13-2015 09:36 PM

i dunno i love the new grill and it must be working for Lexus since they're adding it to their whole lineup

wonder if the bumper/grill is interchangeable with the current GS... (cousin just got it a few months ago and wanted that F grill)

looks wise i love it ;) specs wise...wth....you would think they'd go with something stronger than the RCF...at least put a supercharger or TT it

Imo this is probably one of the best looking cars on the market right now. Its modern/up-to-date/current without appearing as if its been facelifted for the sake of being facelifted *ahem* I'm looking at you Audi

Now now... to be fair, this GS model and the IS model is NOT a face-lift.

Officially, it's a "next gen" and/or "re-designed" car.

On the other hand, the Audi B8 to B8.5 is just that: a face-lift.

The NEXT gen A4 is coming out in 2 years (fingers crossed), and the NEXT gen A6 is coming out in 2 to 3 years.

Acura was putting that ugly chrome shield on all their cars/trucks (I know the new NSX has a much more subtle shield), but that does not mean it looks good, or is "working for them" :P
