All I can say is that if the price is the big deciding factor between the two chances are you're wasting your money with either one.

thumper 01-26-2016 07:52 AM

Mr.Stubbz 01-26-2016 11:50 AM

hopefully with the growth of fun hatchbacks, vw will bring over the polos and polo gti's :tears:

tofu1413 01-26-2016 12:01 PM

:lawl:

320icar 01-26-2016 12:04 PM

man i really wish they did the RS on the '13 or '14 body. not a fan of the facelift at all...

bcuzracecarz 01-26-2016 04:35 PM

RS is up on the Ford Canada site, fun to see the different colours but I could never justify that price for it... Deep coin even if it is a beast

First shipments in Canada wont be until ~3rd quarter the first estimated arrival date is July. We will also find out if our two Ford GT requests will be approved by Ford Canada in the next 10 days! Rumor has it we will have a Ford GT at the Vancouver auto show this year. Nothing confirmed yet though.

twitchyzero 01-28-2016 11:03 PM

any ideas on the production numbers?

are these gonna become the next Cossies in terms of rarity? Is there any demand for the older RS in Europe?

NKC ONE 01-29-2016 07:24 AM

Still no luck finding one.

akira112 01-29-2016 08:57 AM

Friend managed to secure one out in Abby, you may have to venture further out if you want one.

bcuzracecarz 01-30-2016 06:29 AM

Buddy at Nanaimo Ford just said that they are ordering their one this week, all they were allocated and it's a huge dealer.... But that also could play into the "because island" trend

blackGS? 01-30-2016 05:42 PM

2016 RS just went for $550,000 at Barrett Jackson.
I'm assuming #000

NKC ONE 01-30-2016 07:26 PM

Went as far as Calgary to locate one and still nadda.

dared3vil0 01-30-2016 09:31 PM

What would you guys pay for an RS?

I'm not saying related to the actual price, but what price point would it need to be at for you to seriously consider it/buy it?

For me, in the $35k range.

thumper 01-30-2016 10:16 PM

a base ST is $35k...

i would have gone with $40k, but they come fully loaded and have to be built and shipped in from germany, which is expensive, whereas it's cheaper in the uk because you can get a stripped down base car.

Mr.Stubbz 01-30-2016 11:16 PM

yeaaaa, realistically speaking around 40kish would most likely be the magic number for myself and probably a large number of people, considering thats what the golf r and sti is generally around that price.

Spoiler!

320icar 01-30-2016 11:40 PM

I already told myself if it was $39,999 I'd trade in my ST and get one. But they blew that figure out of the water

:seriously:

It's competing with STI / Golf R...

I would expect to pay STI, Golf R price range.
(and I'm not talking about base price STI, cause no one buys base STI)

twitchyzero 01-31-2016 12:45 AM

it starts at 36k USD...50k CAD is within reason...in its main market it's 30k GBP which is almost 60k in loonies (i'm assuming VAT is alread included though)

just from comments in this thread it seems like Canada's allocation is quite small...I don't see any reason to drop close to 40k

StylinRed 01-31-2016 12:51 AM

$49k?! that's the same as the gt mustang :crazy2: which I find already high priced

sweet car though but seems outrageous

Spoiler!

don't forget the upcoming civic type r is just below the RS in price as well.

like someone said, the canadian allocation is very small, with dealer allocatíons barely amounting to one per dealership across canada, which compared to the US is barely anything. on top of that, there were many who put down deposits before production even started so that leaves pretty much nothing left... there will be more lamborghinis on the road here than this thing.

If I was buying an STi I would want the most basic one possible... Personally i'm not a fan of sunroofs, leather, navigation, heated this and cooled that.

I kinda want a stripped out Focus RS with nothing more than AC, good cloth recaros, and power windows LOL. I'm not saying it'll ever happen, i'm just saying that's what I want.
