heading down to states, good place to buy new tires?

I am going shopping this weekend there and also want to pick up new set of tires. Options on where to buy good set for perhaps lower price than here even though exchange rate is crap?:suspicious:

Oh I don't know, maybe discount tire direct. Not sure though, they don't get mentioned on the forums much.

Figure out what tires you want, and compare the prices after exchange rates and taxes applied.

Sucks how Canadian dollar practically lost 20% of its spending power in such a short time :okay:

i compared oktire, kaltire, 1010tires, tire rack, discount tire direct and canadian tire. I am going for either continental dws, or michelin pilot a/s 3 and so far the pilots are the cheapest at canadian tire.

Yeah, too bad can't do much shopping anymore unless its cheap or food! Anyways, I can't think of any other well known establishment that has tires...

You should patiently wait DTD for their $100 off any set of tires sales.
Just keep check.
They also have a eBay store with some good deals.

solution to all your problems

If you're going to get them mounted on your car while you're down there then stop by Costco or Discount Tire. You can even pre-order from Costco and schedule your appointment in advance.

order through tire rack website, save on tax and shipping is cheap. ship to a tire shop in blaine or bellingham and mount them there.

Costco has a great warranty program...check them out.

I just bought from discount tire in bellingham this past weekend. Even with the exchange rate I still saved about 20%.

The discount tire on lakeway in bellingham has always been good to me, I have now bought three sets of tires there.

Not sure what your plans are or if you're staying a few nights but I strongly recommend that you declare them when coming back.

I've had numerous CBSA agents shine their flashlights at my tires to see if I had purchased new ones.

From a few coworkers experiences they purchased from tire rack and had it shipped to a shop that they were getting it installed from
