Before they hit that was pretty good racing between Maldonado and Button. Both the Honda's made it through the whole race

Nico is going absolutely crazy it seems over Hamilton going slow to push Rosberg back into Vettel

and all the commentators are defending Hamilton saying it's his race to control and if Rosberg doesn't like it he should beat Ham either in the race or in qualifying

Watched the start of the race, order was:
Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Raikkonnen, Massa, Bottas

Fell Asleep on Couch

Woke up on last lap, order was:
Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Raikkonnen, Massa, Bottas

This race was literally a snoozer.

In able to pass Lewis, Nico have to stay closer to Lewis's tail which means running behind his dirty air for at least a few laps; resulting in losing grip and destroy the front tires. When two cars are running the same engine, chassis and gear box, overtaking the other car might not be as easy, but the drivers will know if the other car is running at full speed or not.

With all the new F1 rules, go slow and win the race is the latest trend. I missed the old days when drivers can do some real racing, real passing and drivers who actually drove a car not controlled by electronics to win the race.

Verstappen has proven himself very well this season and it's a shame that his car has only been able to finish one race. Nasr too has proven himself to be a feisty racer.

Pretty tired of Rosberg's whiny shit already. If you want to pass, make a pass. Don't ask the team to have it done for you, especially when running the same tire strategy.

about that whole kerfuffle with ros/ham

From a Drivers championship pov, Hamilton, did nothing wrong and this was echoed by all the former drivers commenting, heck Toto agreed as well

But from a Constructor's point of view, Rosberg had a point, he admitted he wasn't going to be able to pass Ham, especially without ruining his tires, so he was content with 2nd, but being backed into Vettel put his 2nd place at undue risk and so that isn't good for the team.

However it was resolved by the team through radio messages telling Ham to pick the pace up a bit, it should have ended right there, but Rosberg has been psyched out this season and he cracked! I highly doubt Ros's anger has much if anything to do with the constructor's concerns, he's just falling apart over his performance thus far. We saw Ham whine like a baby too somewhat this year (over the radio) and especially last year off track.

Don't care for either of them so meh, Vettel is the lesser of 2 evils, for me, atm, so I'm rooting for him out of the 3

Fairly boring race but at least Rosberg showed that he is capable of taking rational risks. Well deserved 2nd place to Kimi and a fairly impressive 9th from Kvyat considering he didn't get out of Q1. Hopefully McLaren can make their way into the points next race.

DC FOR PRESIDENT!

Quote:
David Coulthard has urged F1 to up the pace while still keeping the sport safe as drivers have become "disillusioned" with the slow speeds.

In the last season under the 2.4-litre V8 engines, Nico Rosberg claimed pole position for Mercedes with a 1:20.718.

Two years later, the second season using 1.6-litre V6 power units, the German was again on pole. This time with a 1:24.681.

Added to that the fastest lap of the race, a 1:28.270 set by Lewis Hamilton, was two seconds slower than the fastest lap in 2013.

Ahead of a meeting to discuss change the rules for 2017, former F1 driver Coulthard has urged the powers-that-be to pick up the pace.

Writing in his BBC column, the Scot said: "In my view, the current era of F1 should always be pretty much the fastest period of the sport in history.

"Technology advances. We're used to mobile phones getting lighter, doing more things, having better battery life, more capacity. The 100m world record gets ever lower. Man goes further and longer into space. Yet in F1 the cars are several seconds slower than they were 10 years ago.

"Of course there are a number of reasons for that. There is no competition between tyre manufacturers. Refuelling was ditched five years ago. The cars were slowed down for safety reasons.

"Some people would argue that the cars cannot go on getting faster and faster because they would eventually get too fast for the circuits.

"I'm not so sure about that. Look at Monaco, the next race. We have been racing around there since the 1920s, and we will continue to do so until a car clears the catch fencing and ends up perched in a grandstand somewhere.

"Hopefully that day will never come, but as any parent who has seen their small child fall over and hurt themselves knows, you cannot take all the danger out of life.

"Of course it is unacceptable not to make F1 as safe as it can be, and we should be using technology to do that.

"But danger will always be there in a sport in which men race projectiles at more than 200mph. And I think it is fundamental that the DNA of F1 should be: "Wow! Did you see how fast they are?"

"They might not say so publicly, but I know that the current drivers are all a bit disillusioned with the current F1 because the cars are so slow compared to previous years, and the drivers are so far within their ability levels during the races.

"You watch the in-car camera through somewhere like Turn Three in Barcelona. That should be right on the edge, heart in mouth, nearly flat-out, like it was a few years ago. Now they all have to take a massive lift through there.

"The other day I was voicing some commentary from the 2000 French Grand Prix, which I won after angrily gesticulating at Michael Schumacher because his driving had annoyed me.

"The cars looked properly fast. Of course, F1 still looks quick. But the difference was quite striking."
DC: F1 needs to up the pace

If only he took over Jean Todt and/or Bernie's position

And they've come to the conclusion that Refuelling should return, and V6s stay but will run at higher RPM (for the sound), also wider wheels, more aggressive arrow to make the car look 'cooler' ...to arrive in 2017 -_-

Michelin said they'd come back to F1 if they allowed 18" wheels and competed to make the best racing tyre not one where you have to manage across the line
