Three months ago I put a deposit down to secure the first GT4 of an unnamed dealers allocation.

Details to follow once I know more, if I can't get a PTS car with euro delivery I will probably pass. #jaded

StylinRed 02-03-2015 04:14 PM

This ticks a LOT of the right boxes for me. I'd definitely consider picking one up used in a few years time.

On Jalopnik!

Fuck I don't see the point of Cayman, it's just a fucking Boxster with roof on it. I'd rather have a Boxster with less money.

I am however, impressed with Nurburgring lap time of 7:40 though. That is faster than Camaro ZL1, Pagani Zonda S, Audi R8 V10 and last gen 911 GT3.

Its power is transmitted by a standard six-speed manual gearbox with dynamic gearbox mounts – there is no PDK transmission option

why are people so against dual-clutch paddle shift, traction control, ABS, stability control, launch control, synchro rev-match, etc?

I think technology advancement is a great thing especially for high end cars.

If you wanna simple go-kart sort of cars, there are other cars for you.

bicboi 02-03-2015 05:51 PM

Still not a huge fan of the rear. Everything else looks amazing though.

A lot of us still enjoy the feeling of controlling a car without computers, that's all. I think it's fine that there is the option of dual clutch, paddle shift, rev-match, etc but for a lot of us the feeling of nailing a heel-toe shift and driving a car well without electronic aids is half the fun. That said certain cars (like a GTR maybe) suit paddle shift more than others (like an Elise) IMO.

white rocket 02-03-2015 07:17 PM

That actually looks pretty fucking awesome. Nice specs too. I always thought the Cayman was a ghey younger Boxster brother(also ghey) but I have been swayed.

xjc11 02-03-2015 07:19 PM

looks amazing. I wonder how this will compare to the BMW M2

westopher 02-03-2015 10:58 PM

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
I wish I had a better paying job.
This and the M2 are the only non supercar cars I have been so excited about in a long time. (and honestly more excited about than almost any supercars as well)
I have heard from a very reputable source that dealerships have taken 4x the amount of the deposits of the cars that are being, and ever will be built not knowing porsche was going to do such a limited production. These are going to double in price the moment they drive off the lot.

Mr.Money 02-03-2015 11:23 PM

i'll wait for Porsche Cayman GT4 Turbo S,need that 540hp.

Z3guy 02-04-2015 07:49 AM

I am very intrigued about the GT4 when it gets PDK. For a tight track like Mission, I think this is going to surprise allot of more powerful and expensive cars.
