What was it? 1973 Honda "Trail 70" CT-70B How long did you own it? Dad got it when I was 11 or 12... finally sold the remnants about 5 years ago. So... 30-ish years? What did you love about it? You never forget your first :) Went almost anywhere. What did you hate about it? Heavy, slow, goofy fold-down handlebars. Why did you sell it? Cleaning up the yard and it hadn't run in decades. Did you drop/crash it? Never anything serious. Any other interesting facts? Not really... Post pics. Not pics of the actual bike, but: http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...hesgotrego.jpg |
What was it? 1988 Yamaha YSR50 How long did you own it? 1 year What did you love about it? My first bike What did you hate about it? Everything. Old, slow, small, damaged. Why did you sell it? Needed the money to buy a bigger bike Did you drop/crash it? I didn't buy taught many of my friends to ride on it which meant it fell quite a few times. Any other interesting facts? Legally, this bike isn't allowed on the Knight Street bridge as it struggled to go 60 km/h. The one and only time I rode it to Richmond, I was following an 80's Tercel that could barely go 50 km/h Post pics. Not my bike, but it looked exactly the same Spoiler! |
What was it? 1990 Suzuki Carna How long did you own it? 1 year What did you love about it? Indestructible (at least when i abused it) What did you hate about it?Not much Why did you sell it? Did not, got "stollen" Did you drop/crash it? Yes, a lot, but with a 50cc 2T, the crashes weren't that majestic. Any other interesting facts? It would do off-road, get 2 feet of air, get dropped/crashed, go down hill at top speed often, did not break. Until one summer I left on vacation, borrowed it to my "best friend", when i returned the transmission was shot, he offered to get it fixed, never saw it again. 1 Attachment(s) What was it? 2009 Ninja 250 How long did you own it? 1.5 seasons, put 8000 km What did you love about it? Reliable, cheap on gas, cheap insurance What did you hate about it? Carbureted.. warm up times sucked. riding position wasn't aggressive at all Why did you sell it? Written off Did you drop/crash it? Totalled after somebody decided to do a u-turn back onto the freeway on ramp at an intersection. Cut me off but i was able to avoid a direct collision with a pickup truck, but inadvertently crashed into the center median Any other interesting facts? Excellent bike.. I used to commute from north van to south van.. was wonderful in saving me gas money. Would have likely rode it for longer if it wasn't for the incident. Went to a 250 to a 600, now back to a 300cc. very nimble bikes, and if you can get over the riding position, its a lot of fun (ended up with rear sets and clip ons on my 300 now--super happy). 1 Attachment(s) What was it? - 04 CBR 600RR How long did you own it? - 5 yrs What did you love about it? - Speed and the sound. I bought it with slip on yoshi pipes already installed. What did you hate about it? - I'm a short dude and it's a little tall for me. Why did you sell it? - Didn't have time to ride her any more. Did you drop/crash it? - I have dropped it. I was trying to kick the side kickstand up so she wasn't moving. It was pretty embarrassing lol. Any other interesting facts? - I bought it used and was a 'rebuilt'. I figured since I was newbie then and if ever I drop it(which I did..) I wouldn't care so much. Post pics. can't really see the whole bike but you get the idea. |
What was it? 2009 Konker 200SM How long did you own it? I've had it just over a year What did you love about it? It's a cheap dual sport I can go offroad with What did you hate about it? I haven't had the time to use it (or even get my license for that matter) Why did you sell it? I haven't yet Did you drop/crash it? Not really, it did wiggle the straps loose and slowly lay itself down in the truck on the way home from Rock Creek though. Any other interesting facts? They're sold all over the world under a million different names, but it's a copy of the Suzuki DR200, all of which come with Suzuki motors. Also the kid I bought it from fucked up all the lighting and installed LED signals incorrectly, turning them into hazard lights (I've since fixed all but the headlight).
