Comments on Lexus ES350? Much appreciated!

About to get a preowned 2007-2009 Lexus ES350.
Anyone has any strong pros and cons feeling about it?

lol. So much hate.

The interior is nicer than pretty much all other cars in the price range.

You're going to get a lot of "my grandma has one" comments though, because that's pretty much the target audience. Of course it handles like a softer Camry because that's what seniors want...

It's not hate.. but it's like asking what do you think about Depends? Purpose built product for a target market, and the feedback just reflects that..

All the negs out there pretend your 65 and then voice your opinion.
That v6 is bulletproof knowing that toyota uses it in almost all their vehicles. Lexus luxury would mean it drives like a cloud.

Interior is second to none in its class, superb fit and finish, rides like one of those NASA foam beds, and is super quiet even at highway speeds. If you want an ultra-comfortable, hassle-free, reliable, and relatively luxurious car you won't be disappointed. The fact that seniors like it is a huge plus, considering all the seniors I know love to complain and have things "their way". They are the hardest to please, and if this car pleases a lot of them then it's definitely a good buy. Not to mention you can probably break all kinds of traffic laws and not get ticketed because it's such an invisible car.

You just gotta deal with all the "senior citizen" comments...

I would take a shot of heroin everytime your behind the wheel just to make the drive a little exciting. It's literally the most boring car on earth actually that goes for 90% of Toyotas/Lexus'.

My dad had a 2008 ES350. ICBC wrote it off cause someone rear-ended him and bent the frame. The damage didn't seem that bad, and my dad was completely unharmed.

A week later my dad went back to the dealership and bought a 2009 ES350 they had on their lot. He loves the car lol.

People gotta keep in mind that it looks and drives like a boat for grandpas because that's what Lexus was going for when they designed it.

my dad bought an 07 es 350 with 45k for 18k from a family friend two years ago. bad news was it sat for three years..

we put on about 15k, then something pretty disastrous happened. theres a recall (or a tsb --not exactly sure) where the high pressure vvti oil line fails and spews oil. lexus put out a new one which is suppose to withstand the test of time lol. it sucked.. i gave my dad 4 litres of oil to drive down to lexus for the appointment since it was free and we didnt wanna tow it (he forgot to screw the oil cap back on... cost him $40). its funny b/c i work at another dealership and diag'd the same issue just a few months prior. we ended up towing this car to lexus also.

anyway, other than that which was covered free of charge to us, its been pretty solid. its pretty quick but i agree it does handle like a boat. The seats are very comfy. exterior is starting to look dated imo. interior not too much to complain about and they really did stick to the toyota styling. I took a 500km trip last year full car of ppl with luggage for a week and we didn't have any issues with room/comfort.

overall, we got a good price on it so my dad was really happy. worst part? the fucking color we got

If you're going to do it, get the loaded version with glass roof.

Ahahaha thanks for the comments guys! It's no doubt NOT the sickest looking car on the road, but it'll serves it's purpose.

I had a Camry before my Mazda3 Skyactive, so I know what to expect. At the least it felt like a Camry on Steroids in a Burberry Suit! (or maybe just Armani)

Most important pro I've heard so far is that the V6 is great! I guess like my Camry one of the first thing to go may be the suspensions?

I've considered bimmers... their prices actually are almost identical, but I hate getting too many maintenance issues.

Blame the previous owners

If you get a car that takes 91, get an app like GasBuddy, since not all gas stations have the same increase from 87 to 91.

It depends. Euros have always got bad reps when it comes to reliability or cost of ownership. They're generally not known for that. Japanese cars win by far in this category.

Euros are usually good when you're looking for something unique, luxurious, expensive and high class. That goes same with European and Japanese motorcycles too.

Yes with proper maintenance, I'm sure they can run just as well.
But if something does happen, parts and labour would cost more for sure.
