New Chrysler van looks dope. Managed to make it look low to the ground, gave it a nice stance. The Hybrid sounds fascinating - wished it was electric AWD though, that would be a killer feature (imagine a 200hp electric motor in the future).

i would hold back on the heavy breathing until there is some reliability scores for this new model... chrysler hasn't exactly been on top of the charts for being reliable these days.

I like the idea of the hybrid, awd, and electric motors.
But Chrysler? Really? Every Chrysler product I've ever had has been a dog, breaking in the most inconvenient way. Exhaust manifolds cracking, electrical issues, suspension parts wearing at a rapid rate, and poor overall quality of parts.

Domestic vehicles are great if you're going to lease them for 2 years and give it back when the lease ends. If you're going to keep your van for a few more years, go Sienna or Odyssey.

Even my Odyssey has had some issues. Bad batteries, and a leaking oil pan.

You know what? Fuck Honda. Buy the Sienna, and never look back.

^ best rental van ever.

I just came back from Hong Kong a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't believe the amount of vans they have in that city. They have more vans than sedans lolz. Their Toyota Alphard / vellfire is freakin awesome which is a luxury version of our Toyota sienna. But taking a look at their prices, it's about $70,000+ cad when converted from hkd! And they already have hybrid as an option for most japanese branded minivans ! C'mon North America, get your shit together! Why does Chrysler get first dibs on a hybrid van! :yuno:

asian_XL 03-12-2016 02:30 AM

^ hybrid van is stupid, we had one and traded in for a 3.5 V6 right away.
the mileage is somewhat similar and SLOW, because these vans are heavy like fuck. Unless you have a chauffeur, you won't find it fun to drive.

A HKD version 3.5 V6 Alphard with all the option is about 110,000CAD. 2.4 V6 is around 82,000. That's with all the heavy tax, it should be around 60,000 if in Canada.

I have a hunch a hybrid van would be garbage for a lot of North Americans, at least any ones that take it outside of big cities.

For those of you who got SE, could you share why you added tech package? I like some of the features like blind spot check and automatic rear door (shame on Toyota for not including this in standard) but I feel like most of the $ is towards the Blu-ray entertaient system and nav.

Do you have kids and think the entertainment system would come in handy? I feel like we might be rarely using them and it's limitation to only play Blu-ray discs which aren't cheap. Also kids might just enjoy playing on their tablet more. $5k is pretty steep...
