Considering OP is on Revscene, I'm sure OP is a car enthusiast just like anyone else here.

If OP is strictly looking for a grocery getter, then I'd suggest getting one of these soccer moms' vans.

Here are good compromise between hauling kids and still being a car enthusiast.
Mitsubishi Delica, Toyota Sienna, Nissan Quest with Elgrand conversion.

My old neighbor went from a station Wagon to an old delica and seemed to work well for him. He had 1 baby boy and a medium sized dog and camps a lot. Seemed to fit his needs really well.

He said he didn't mind rhd but I'm not sure if I could get used to it

One of the better options for old beater vans would be the Mazda MPV. It drives like car, has dual sliding middle doors, and has power windows that slide down for the middle row. Compared to the vans of the same era, only the MPV has that option. The other vans only open outwards.

MPGs aren't that good with the 2.5L or 3.0L v6 engine.

2015 sienna SE

I got my SE in 2013, I mean what revscener wouldn't go the the 19s?

Seriously though, the 2015 remedied all the cheap interior issues which I hate about mine.

It's Jalopnik, but I never really gave the Transit Connect much consideration until I read the review. Looks promising, and I actually prefer it style-wise over the Sienna.

Why You Should Buy A Ford Transit Connect Instead Of A Three-Row SUV

Hey guys;

So the wife has now test driven, while I waited the kids, the Sedona, Odyssey and Sienna.

I'm pretty much sold on the Sienna, but the Odyssey does have a few cool features that the Sienna doesn't. An eighth removable seat on the top model, the cool box and the built in vacuum in the back.

I wish the Sienna still had the foot rests from the 2014's on the middle seats, but I like the led drl's on the 2015's... I forgot to check if the sienna has an hdmi in port for the rear dvd...

Anyone here work in sales at a toyota dealership? Or have any referral to one? Feel free to pm me

Any update OP?

on a side note, followed a new nissan quest on the way home yesterday, damn that's ugly from the rear...

I have a 14 odyssey touring.. (with vacuum)
Fucking we've only used the dam thing maybe a dozen times....
Kids make the van dirty as fuck. Make sure if you have protectors on back of seats cuz the little fuckers will leave scuff marks.
Had a 2010 gc.. It was a great van used it on a bunch of road trips no issues.... I'm a believer if you don't drive hard the vehicle will last longer. I had no problems with the Dodge.
I looked into the Nissan quest with an elgrand conversion.... Pricey. And the rear on jdm has no bumper. Not legal in Canada

Drove 12 sienna as well. Dam thing was jerky to drive.. I picked the odyssey because even with the automatic stigma it drove the smoothest. Though I would've just picked and ex with entertainment.... Wife fell for the vacuum gimmick

Couldn't you leave the rear bumper on?
Visually, you can just leave it on without any issue...

^ 4Runner is the top of my list when kids come along as well. According to Wikipedia:

Quote:
The April 2007 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety report also shows the 4Runner to have one of the lowest death rates for all vehicles on the road at only 13 deaths per million registered vehicle years during calendar years 2002–2005. Only the Infiniti G35 and BMW 7 series had lower rates.

I was in the same boat we have an Isuzu rodeo (still) but when you factor in going out and bringing people like grandparents or relatives for extra help especially on day trips etc.
A van is more comfortable. Especially if you make the wife sit between the two kids in the back she'll change her tune soon enough.
Out of necessity we got a van anyways because the amount of shit the wife packs for the kids is like a Frikken weekend trip... Everytime

Our family has gone through many cars but the only one we've ever kept long term is our 2004 Sienna. It's the one car that we treat like absolute shit but has never even had a single hiccup. Reliable, comfy and spacious as hell.

My wife kind of balked at the thought of a minivan until she test drove the Sienna. She loves it, and TBH, so do I.

anyone have thoughts or experience on the 4runner with the third row seat? hows the sitting space in the third row? any more trunk space for a stroller (eg, stand the stroller up or put it up on the side)
