I've posted a deposit for a 2015 Toyota Sienna SE w/ Tech package. Arriving next month!

Trading in my 2014 cx-5, gave me top dollar for it, so couldn't ask for any additional offers on that. Salesman was nice guy, tried to get some extras for me, since the sienna comes with practically everything already.

What colour? Would be interested to hear what you paid... And what your plans are with it...

We picked this up on the weekend.. SE with tech, wife already scuffed underside of bumper

List of immediate plans in no particular order
LED's interior and license plate
trailer hitch (mostly just for bike rack)
HID's- last few vehicles have had factory hid's or I have retrofitted complete assemblies- usually curse people who do it- but if you can't beat 'em, join 'em I guess

^ hahah dude.I ordered the same color!!

I "might" paint the wheels, or leave em stock for the time being.
Planning to change to LED interior lights and license plate lights, install HIDs.

He wouldn't budge under MSRP, so it was merely the savings on the trade in of the car (my vehicle trade in on black book was $24,300, GM said $23500, and sales guy brought it up to $24,200, and extra accessories and extra oil changes).

That's funny, I'll keep you posted how it goes, got a bunch of ebay 914 led's I will start asap. You have to remove the rear hatch inner panel to get at the license plate ones though...

Spend some time on siennachat...

Here is my van! Lowered on Megan's

Alby 04-20-2015 07:12 PM

what's your wheel setup like?

Poknat 04-20-2015 07:35 PM

20x10.5 25 on 2454520 tires check out VANkulture

Alby 04-20-2015 09:44 PM

any problems with rubbing? did you do any fender or wheel well work to make that setup clear of problems?

SoNaRWaVe 04-20-2015 11:25 PM

these pics look tempting to get a minivan. sienna seems like a good choice by far. prolly will get one sooner than later....sigh....

Poknat 04-20-2015 11:52 PM

Rub a little bit on the front on the tabs when full turn , slight rub not rubbing, tires doesn't hit the fenders on bumps. No fender work, no pull or roll! I think my fronts are in the lowest setting while the back still has 1 finger gap

My friends Nissan Quest / Nissan elgrand conversion

Those are some killer people haulers!
I hate my 2011 Odyssey. The wife has scuffed it up, and it drives like a big civic. Thankfully we're out of the van phase and can justify a nice SUV or big wagon. I'd take a turbo Forester over my Odyssey anyday.

But it's funny to see so many people I considered "young" members in the same situation I was a decade ago when I bought my first Odyssey.
:lol

Liquid_o2 04-21-2015 11:11 AM

That Quest looks huge compared to the Sienna.

I never considered an suv,my brother has a Honda Pilot and I find them lacking of room and cargo room
and I have 1 toddler and a baby
I carry a double stroller
plus groceries and in laws lol

Quest is bigger given to its boxy shape I think

Same here, double stroller with a 6 month and a 22 month old, diaper bags, food, etc... If we ever made a shopping trip in my Jeep it was already 3/4 full before we left

Ordered a 4300k HID kit with Phillips bulbs from Xenondepot
Ordered the hitch with wiring harness specific to SE
Swapped in a few LED's last night... more to go...

Won't those LED interior lights wake up your kids more easily though?

RE-Jo 04-23-2015 08:04 AM

There should be a minivan section in the next Revscene meet.

.... and maybe a jumping castle

When my kids were younger, a lot of their stuff was soft and pliable, and needed to be stored in the vehicle. Now their stuff is big and heavy, and made to be used outside. So my truck is still the go-to for road trips, etc. But every once in a while the wife talks me into taking the van like 2 weeks ago to Kelowna. The kids were comfortable, and I averaged just under 11L/100km.

that's a win.

Good point, but had the same lights in the Jeep for quite a while and we're rarely out at night with the kids though. Would only be a problem if got home late and tried to not let wake while getting them inside. Doubt the wife will even notice, told her I was working on Jeep last night...

hahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaha.

get the 4runner you fucks, or even a used sequoia. them things is naice.

but sienna's are reliable as fuck. parents bought ours new in 01. thing is still going strong at 302k km with all original engine components. no lie. all we've ever done to it is basic maintenance and changed the battery out a couple of times. i think the starter is finally starting to shit itself though..

oh i almost forgot, our keys are worn down quite a bit. so now when its started and running you can just pop the key out of the ignition, just like them good ol chevy's. lol

J-Chow 05-27-2015 02:29 PM

So lil' update.

I installed rain guards and yellow tint to the fog lights, and ordered some interior LED lights, and installed 4300k HID kit.

Now, I'm looking to replace the fog light bulbs, but need some insight.

I don't want blinding fogs, so I'm not opting for HID fogs.

I've done some researching and found the following fog light bulbs for sale:

Nokya hyper yellow
Hella Optilux yellow
Hoen endurance yellow
Piaa Ion Crystal yellow (Crazy expensive)

Just wanted to know if you guys had any experience on any of the above, and which ones are closest to 2500k.

thanks!

TOPEC 05-27-2015 09:50 PM

HIDs in fogs arent blinding, had them in my sti before, and seen many ppl running HID fogs, never did i noticed them blinding. they're aimed relatively low and the beam pattern is so spread out so it shouldnt blind as much as HID in reflector low beams

Akinari 05-27-2015 11:28 PM

I'm running the Nokya Hyper Yellows in my fogs as DRLs so they are pretty much on all the time. For bulbs that are supposed to burn out pretty quickly, my passenger fog bulb is still burning bright after 2 years, my driver's fog bulb burnt out last month, so pretty long-lasting for a cheap $20 tinted bulb that's actually pretty bright!

I didn't realize there's a minivan thread on RS! I have a 2013 Sienna (AWD XLE model), and am purchasing a 4300k HID kit from XenonDepot too. Did you guys use the relay harnesses for the install, or is that not necessary for our car?

For the yellow bulbs, I used the Hella Optilux Yellow H11s on my last car for over a year and there were no issues to the moment it was sold. I haven't tried the other ones you listed though so I can't comment on how "yellow" they are compare to one another.

flagella 05-29-2015 04:42 PM

I'm also on the boat of possibly getting a mini van. Can anyone chime in as to what are the pros and cons of having an 8-seater mini van vs. full-sized SUV (i.e. Honda Pilot)?
