Passenger Airbag Off Light Sensor Staying On
Just earlier today when my pops either sat down in the passenger seat, or buckled up his seat belt, the passenger airbag off warning light in the dash lit up and has stayed on even after multiple engine start/stops, unplugging and replugging the passenger underseat sensor connector, sitting down and getting up out of the seat, playing around with the seat belt connector and clip. The passenger airbag off light just won't go off no matter what I do.
I did a bit of reading around and it seems like it could be a number of different issues with Hondas, seems like it's an issue with most mid-2000s model Hondas even some newer models.
The car has been in the family since 2004 and never has that light come on, even with a bunch of stuff in the passenger seat with no occupant.
I have three questions for those who know about or have experienced this issue:
1. before I go to a stealership which undoubtedly will charge me up the ass for a simple diagnosis, are there any ways to reset this light (like I did with the driver's side SRS warning light)?
2. if this is a common issue and for those who have experienced this issue, is this more likely a sensor or the seatbelt clip?
3. in case it is the seatbelt, does Honda Canada have lifetime warranties for the seatbelts as well like the US?
