McLaren 570s Revealed

The new McLaren 570s just made its debut at the New York Auto Show.

Quote:
McLaren's new entry-level sports car isn't just another Porsche 911 competitor; it's basically a detuned version of the 650S for around $100,000 less.

The 570S uses the same twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 as the 650, but it's been dialed back to 562 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. But even with that slight reduction in power, the 570S can still crack off a 0-62 MPH run of 3.2 seconds and hit 124 MPH in 9.5 seconds on its way to a 204 MPH top speed.

McLaren hasn't announced pricing yet, but the best guesstimates right now are right around $180k. The hard-top 650S starts at $265,500, which makes the 570S around 70 percent of the car for two-thirds of the price
McLaren 570S: All The Fantastic Details

What are your thoughts? I personally think it looks pretty good, with similar styling cues to both the p1 and 650s.

I guess if it doesn't have a widebody kit, canards, vortex generators, and a giant wing you're out hey?

Not a big fan of the design, even when looking at it on its own and not comparing it to the 650S and the P1. Looks cartoonish.

hope P1 owners are okay with their exclusive cars getting cheapened out
should be a formidable competitor against the new NSX/R8/Huracan/911 Turbo S

I think it looks very ugly. Like a Chinese knock-off of a 650s. With a name really classy, like "Pengjing Bolt" or some shit.

Really it looks like a caricature of a 650s. I can't take that car seriously. It's the ugly child of the McLaren family, not unlike what the California is to Ferrari.

I mirror the above poster's sentiments. McLaren is watering down their brand by putting out cars like this piece of shit and the 650s. Why do that to your marquee car (P1)?

yea like i really dont get it..

why the fuck would you release a vehicle that looks VERY similar to a car thats nearly triple the price? the P1 is an ultra exclusive hyper car and you release this thing that has the same look? why?..

Hold up, same engine as a 650 with less boost?
Seems like it would have a lot of room to grow from a tuning standpoint then.

McLaren has always been a favorite car maker for me. Ever since the F1 prototype sketches came out I have loved what they do.

I feel sorry for the owners of 650S. They paid a big premium for not much difference.

They needed to change the overall design a little more, I agree, it takes away huuuge from the 650s...and the p1 to a certain extent.

I'd take an NSX over this imo in a heartbeat... But I'm also sitting behind a screen on Craigslist looking for a commuter in the freebie section

looks better than 650s i think. 650 looks like they took p1 front chopped onto a mp4-12cm
