I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations to local shops that work on E46 BMW's other than CG motorsports and Nixon Automotive. I've been to CG before and didn't have a very good experience with them.
Looking to get some work done to my car, but don't really want to have my wallet raped lol
IMO, e46's aren't new technology (neither are e36's), so you don't need a "Certified BMW" shop working on it. It's just an excuse for them to charge you more.
Also, I've tried a recent shop with a younger experienced mechanic on e30's and despite his knowledge on my car, I ended up not impressed (I guess I got what I paid for)
That being said, (fail me all you want) but I'm not trusting my stock e30 to some young 20 something punk again!
On that note, I've heard good things about Kon's auto repair.

I got your PM but figured I'd just answer here. I'm gonna say it depends on the issue with the car. If its something I can't find any info about anywhere and I've got no idea what is going on, I'll probably go to CG. Its fucking pricey, but they are so experienced, so they are going to get through the trouble shooting quickly. I've spent more money there than I've cared to, but they went well above and beyond in handing back over a car I can be confident in. I wouldn't pay their prices if its a common problem, as if I have some knowledge on it, other shops will too and it will likely be much cheaper somewhere else.
The other option I'd never hesitate to recommend is TSS. I don't think a bad experience exists with this shop. Trustworthy beyond any shop I've been to, and I know they have had lots of e36/e46 m3 experience, as I've seen a few at the shop. Its a bit more reasonable with pricing.
I don't know why nixon is highly rated. I've had a hassle with them buying parts and some poor info given by them. No experience myself taking my car in there though. Heard complaints from friends though about pricing and repairs that just weren't up to snuff.
Also I'm happy with Blitzkrieg, but I think they are better for more general stuff like suspension, brakes, etc. They aren't as in the BMW world as porsches and VWs and they aren't cheap so I'd likely go to CG or TSS. That said they are close to my house and great guys and I'll still go there if its straightforward stuff.
I've never been to Aria but see them on Facebook posting work and they seem like they have had lots of M-cars through there.
TL/dR
TSS=CG (depending on problem)>Blitzkrieg>Aria

Werner's Auto Klinik in Delta has always been pretty reasonable.
