AT Symbol on Mazda 6

Hey guys. Anyone know what the AT (auto transmission) symbol on a 2004 Mazda 6 means ? Every morning (or whenever my car is cold), this symbol will turn on. Everything drives fine except when I put it in reverse, my car jolts a little bit. However, when my car has no AT symbol, it reverses perfectly fine.

I have gotten new transmission fluid and that didn't seem to help.

Have you scanned for codes?

Is it 4cyl engine?

Quick google search

▼Automatic Transaxle Warning
Light
This warning light stays on for a few
seconds when the ignition switch is turned
to the ON position.
The light illuminates when the transaxle
has a problem.

If the automatic transaxle warning
light flashes, the transaxle has an
electrical problem. Continuing to drive
your Mazda in this condition could
cause damage to your transaxle.
Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer
as soon as possible.

TCM failure is pretty common but I'd scan the codes first cause they aren't cheap.

Yes, it is a 4 cyl engine.

Do you guys know any car service places that specialize in Mazda ? I've googled and seen some other people have issues as well but seems like no one else has that reversing issue.

I'm not the most car-literate person haha. Thanks for the help guys.
