is chipped paint covered by ICBC? And any recommendations for windshield repair kits? My front bumper was smooth and shiny until driving through construction zones recently and mostly highways behind larger vehicles. If not covered, would it be a good idea to just patch up with touch up paint?. Anyone have experience with crack repair kit? My windshield also has chipped and started cracking, if I try a repair kit, will ICBC still provide coverage if I call in? Thanks |
Sure. One deductible per chip. |
If a vehicle carrying a load sprayed you, yes its covered If a vehicle drove through a pile of rocks and sprayed you, yes its covered If its regular vehicle wear, its not covered :accepted: |

Windshield is not the same 300 deduc as everything else. It's usually 150 or 200 for a new windshield. Why don't you just call icbc and ask? |
Yes I shall do that. I was gonna do a windshield repair myself but not gonna a be good down the road anyways |

I'm not sure if they have once again changed things around but in 2010, I was sprayed by a gravel truck in my brand new (at the time) Civic. There were rock chips on the bumper, both fenders, hood, windshield, both side mirrors, and even one chip on the C pillar. Icbc said the rules had just changed and they wanted a $300 deductible for the hood and windshield, then a seperate $300 deductible for each additional piece of the body. $2100 was what they wanted. I just sucked it up and went to a repair shop for $1200. I think the shop ended up using Icbc for he hood and windshield and repaired the rest by hour. |
Nothing has changed, its a very grey area, you will get a different answer depending on who you deal with at icbc, the vehicle year/km and if the rock chips show any rust or have been touched up. |
im just going to do the windshield tomorrow. The paint I guess would just buff right out if I do it correctly with my polisher. Hopefully... |
Imo might as well pay Speedy Glass and do the windshield repair right the first time. The total for me was around 80 dollars, tax included. |
