Burnaby Street Parking - No Signage

What are the rules regarding a situation where there is no sign displayed on a street like this?

The green area is 2 hour parking (clearly marked)
The red area is no parking/construction parking (clearly marked)
What about the yellow area? Google maps isn't updated, but there is a clear area for parking now, however, as the first picture shows, there are no signs.

Am I required to follow the 2 hour rule, or is it unlimited parking since there's no signs?

Do you know that you can just park in the same parking lot as all the construction workers building the new towers?

Those lots never get checked, they are completely free, and you can park there all fucking day.

Just don't tell too many people cause I'm sure someone will start patrolling if they start filling up, but as of when I was there last, the lots were like 50% empty every day.

I believe the Burnaby bylaw states that any unmarked spaces in residential zones are 3 hours maximum.

Having no regulations on a street does not mean you can park there all day. Burnaby has a bylaw that restricts parking of greater than 3 hours between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM in front of any home or business that you don’t own or work for. This bylaw is only applied in circumstances where no other remedy is available.

In your picture as you go around the corner there, on the left there is a dirt parking lot.

Also instead of turning right on university crescent, turn left. And then take a right a lot of guys park along that road. Just drive in like you own the place and nobody will say shit to you...

IDK tho.

Spoiler!

The dirt parking lot is long gone. They finished construction there and moved on already. I wonder where they park now...

Hmm, I know Scott construction finished that last building up there, and they should now be prepping the next tower (pretty sure the next site was already done grubbing and clearing).

I'll ask a buddy where the workers park now. I'll PM you when I find out.

Sauce Parking
We should have a provincial law that takes effect when there is no signage posted. Out-of-towners should have a reasonable idea of what the parking restrictions are.

The current process is:
-Find a place to legally park,
-Retrieve their phone from the trunk,
-Look up the bylaws for the municipality they're in (if they know where the municipal borders are),
-Sift through a four-dozen page streets and traffic bylaw, decipher all the legal-speak,
-Lock their phone back in their trunk
-Proceed to park close to where they want to be.

What it should be:
-Province wide - in the absence of signage, parking is legal/illegal, etc....
