Nissan GT-R LM NISMO

Front engine, front wheel drive

ilovebacon 06-11-2015 08:55 PM

front lights looks nice in the dark

twitchyzero 06-12-2015 12:29 AM

didn't watch vid in full but i read this is the skunkworks/testbed for the R36?

Timpo probably fainted as he read this.

Galactic_Phantom 06-12-2015 12:39 AM

Tomorrow in the news, Timpo furiously masturbates non-stop and dies

multicartual 06-12-2015 12:52 AM

Going to look great parked at Bubble Tea on 3 Road

StylinRed 06-12-2015 02:35 AM

wec is so much more interesting than f1, these days (yeah yeah some will say since forever :P)

BoostedBB6 06-12-2015 07:26 AM

This has/is competing in the LeMans 24hr. It did rather well in fact.
As for being R36 test vehicle, I dont think that is the case. Its an LMP1 class car in the FIA WEC so its a tech vehicle. May use some features of it in some way, but far from being a production testing vehicle.

BoostedBB6 06-12-2015 07:31 AM

Its qualified 11th, 13th and 14th for its first ever races. Rather impressive.

The FIA WEC has always been more interesting than F1 IMO.

Haha, this is exactly what I thought

really....? is this the best you can come up with...?

twitchyzero 06-12-2015 02:56 PM

so it's a MF (mid-engine, front-wheel drive)?

BoostedBB6 06-12-2015 03:01 PM

FF, front engine front wheel drive. The reason why it looks behind the axles is because of the way the trans is situated.

TOPEC 06-12-2015 09:38 PM

i know race tracks r flat n all, but thats like only 1 inch of suspension travel?!

BoostedBB6 06-13-2015 09:41 AM

LIVE cams of these cars competing in the 24hr du Mans.

BoostedBB6 06-13-2015 09:43 AM

This car is running way off the pace. There are LMP2 cars running faster.....still bloody quick tho.

F1 will always have its fan base, reaching out to a majority, but for quality racing, I've always strongly believed FIA WEC is far superior.

Hoping to catch WEC @ COTA this year. :hotbaby:

If anybody is following the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nissan abandoned the race. Such a shame.

StylinRed 06-13-2015 08:05 PM

last i checked, hulkenberg's porsche was beating audi

what a shame about nissan, its quite an interesting ride, the gran turismo drivers too :lol

bcrdukes 06-13-2015 08:17 PM

While I'm not rooting for any particular team or manufacturer, it's a real shame for Nissan, really. They came up with 3 cars and couldn't pull through. I was really hoping to see at least Nissan put up a fight with at least Toyota, seeing they are/were the only defacto Japanese manufacturer to take part in the series.

godwin 06-13-2015 08:24 PM

Nissan still have 2 out of 3 cars still in the race.. for their first time out it is not that bad.. the 919 had issues during their first year too.

It was expected that Nissan would not do well with this car. There was talk about this LMP1 not being properly finished and that the intend on having it a 4wd hybrid setup on the car come next season.
Last season Toyota destroyed everyone but Audio came back with a vengeance and Porsche sorted out there 919 making for an interesting race in the LMP1 lineup. Sad to see fewer LMP2 cars every year. I enjoyed that catagory as well as the GT3 stuff.

The Blancpain GT series is always fun to watch too. It's like GT3 racing with NASCAR contact. That and the Tudor series.

Love me endirance/GT races.

Lomac 06-13-2015 10:14 PM

Today's race is just killing cars. Good race, though it's a little sad to see the GTR's get pulled.

Meanwhile, at today's Indy Lights race...
