The Kings have lost some pretty important players lately (Voynov, Richards during his prime and Justin Williams.) Others have regressed like Dustin Brown, and Gaborik due to age and injuries. So to me, it's no surprise to see them take a bit of a step back.

I didn't think they would be great this season, but I wasn't expecting them to be this bad. However, It's only 4 games into the season so I don't think it's time to hit the panic button yet. With Doughty, Quick, Kopitar, Carter and many other good players I can't see them continuing to be this bad. I see them struggling to make the playoffs this year, but if they get in watch out.

Also, dat Brown contract :heckno: 5.875M till the 2022-2023 season...

On top of players regressing and cap casualties, you have the off-ice issues surrounding now-former teammates, conflicts between the players and the coaching staff (Sutter locked out of the dressing room following a loss late last year), contract talks souring between Kopitar and management.

They have all the ingredients necessary to be a tire fire this season.

All this McDavid love, and talk about Eichle, but quietly, Dylan Larkin is having a pretty good start to his NHL career, doesn't hurt playing along side Zetterberg.
