It's all about how much pull the owner of a team has with the NHL. If you look at Boston, Jacobs is Chairman of NHL Board of Governors and they get the most lenient penalties. Guaranteed any other player like Marchand would have gotten 10 for a repeat offender. Look at Raffi Torres, he got 40 games for being a repeat offender.

The guy is honestly garbage on skates but his spot is bulletproof.
He'd barely be 3rd pair dman in the A
Now Veys back too
its like having two huge piece of shit furniture in your house that doesnt fit anywhere and probably belongs at the bottom of a burning tire fire but is stuck cus they're too heavy to be moved.

If you're going to sit McCann loan him out to the World Jr team. He would be #1 C and Virtanen would ride shotgun with him and maybe build some chemistry and confidence.
