If its anything close to their MLB experience, then it could be good

Such a feel good weekend
Great read on the weekend and overall commentary on the current state of hockey: John Scott gave the NHL back to hockey fans - SBNation.com
Mike Milbury is such a piece of shit
Get a stroke already, you outdated sack of dried up cunts. Quote:
But the hope is that the league goes the other way with it. Embrace it. Turn All-Star Weekend not into a showcase of the league's top on-ice talent, but into the league's personalities. Stop worrying about whether the hockey will be good, or if the players "deserve" to be there. Focus more on whether or not it'll make people smile.
John Scott gave us all joy this weekend. Like, literal child-like joy. We might never get quite that feeling at an All-Star Game again, but even if the NHL gets halfway there next year, it'll be a rousing success.
| This. For too long the ASG has been this manufactured, full of shit event, I couldn't give two shits about if my balls depended on it.

First time in years I was able to watch any of the All Star weekend without wanting to change the channel within 5 mins. As others have mentioned, J Scott really embraced it and the fans loved it. Kudos!

The hockey during the All-Star game has never been "good". It's always been a garbage game watching millionaires that don't want to be there play at half-speed in a game no one gives a shit about because it happens in the middle of the fucking season and no one wants to get injured for NOT A GODDAMN THING.
The NFL does their game at the end of the season. The MLB play for home field advantage. The NBA...well, it's pretty easy to promote something with a fucking dunk competition.
But the NHL All Star game hasn't been watchable...ever. I watch some of the skills but never the game. This year, though, it was fun because it looked like everyone was having a good time at least and that big fucking goofy grin on John Scott's face every time the camera panned to him was priceless. The guy is obviously a little nervous and sheepish about the whole situation but good on him for embracing it and telling the NHL to go fuck themselves.

The Vancouver Canucks have reportedly inked defenseman Alex Biega to a two-year contract extension.
The deal will pay him $700,000 in 2016-17 and $800,000 in 2017-18, TVA's Renaud Lavoie reports. Biega signed a one-year deal with the Canucks over the summer.
His new pact is a one-way contract, according to Adam Forsythe of News 1130.
He has four points in 25 games with the Canucks in 2015-16, and six points in 14 contests with the AHL's Utica Comets.

Great signing.
He deserves it after coming in and playing pretty steadily despite the fact that he's playing with Bartkowski most of the time.
Hopefully when Bartkowski is gone he'll get partners that can play D on at least a junior level

Decent contract. Easy to bury if his play falls off, good deal if he continues to play well.

Can't really go wrong with such a cheap contract. They're hanging onto some potential even if his upside isn't huge.

I hope we get rid of Prust and pick up John Scott. If we're going to have a fighter, why not the biggest guy.

prust cap hit makes it hard to trade him. but if he clears, as I expect him to it would allow for a team to acquire him and put him in the ahl until the playoffs. along with the canucks retaining salary and the amount of games actually left in the season after the deadline the cap hit for him would be quite small
