I agree, as much as every Vancouver fan would love for Stamkos to land in Vancity I don't see us having the cap space for him or be able to sweet talk him over here to the west coast.

An interesting and not entirely factual perspective of history you have there. Many fans, including myself, and those in the media were not happy with the contract from the get-go or at the least thought it was unlikely he could live up to it. If I recall, he started off his first season with a 10 game suspension so people were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for the first couple weeks but by Christmas the honeymoon was over and he was the new whipping boy.
