Package 'em up for Drouin and a 2018 7th!

JB logic

the scary thing is that trade actually looks plausible now

I've not really been one to drink the jb master scout koolaid, but he seems to have don't decent with bae and etem. I'm willing to cut him some slack with shink, I've not seen or heard but there must have been something that isn't there or some other intangible blocking progress with shink in order for a deal like this to be made.

Or maybe canucks just repaying back to the hockey overlords for the naslund/stojanov deal

Harvey Specter 02-22-2016 01:36 PM

Fuck me.

To be honest this deal isn't thaat bad, a pick with it would of been nice tho for the slight age difference
Granlund has put up nearly a ppg in every year in the AHL
He put up 20pts in 48games in his rookie year in the NHL last year.
He's now stuck as a 3rd/4th line C on that team due to depth.
For a young player playing C he has a respectable +/-
Basically he could have a career in the NHL if he doesn't produce in a 2nd line role

Shinkaruk has offensive flare and putting up good numbers this year
He can only play LW. We already have Sedin and Baer in top 6 hopefully still have gaunce for future 3rd LW
He won't be able to play in the bottom six
He's small and he's going to get hurt often

Harvey Specter 02-22-2016 01:39 PM

"This is a move that makes us more competitive now and in the future" - Benning, who said Granlund will be at #Canucks practice Tuesday.

Shinkaruk primarily played centre in junior. Not sure why 1.5 years of pro hockey on the wing makes him unable to play centre now.

WTF just happened?

We are just paying it forward. Am I right?

Regardless, I still don't like the trade.

Size, defensive ability. They could try him at c again but I don't see it especially with Monahan and 19yr old Sam Bennett. Along with the new great one, Jankowski

And Benning was suppose to be a game changer type GM when he replaced Gills but he's looking more or less the same as Gillis, straight clown show.

He needs to take a look at the what the Leafs did today if he's serious about building a playoff contending team.

Jankowski, who Weisbrod claimed would be the best player in the draft ... Now our assistant GM that Benning has "full confidence" in ...

highfive 02-22-2016 01:53 PM

Fuck. should just trade Vey for Granlund instead.

I guess we have no more offensive players in the AHL.

cdizzle_996 02-22-2016 01:53 PM

So now we have Sedin, Sutter, Horvat, Granlund, Vey, McCann, Cracknall

:lol

6o4__boi 02-22-2016 01:57 PM

i doubt Cracknell and Vey will be back next season

realistically Sedin, Sutter, Horvat, McCann, Granlund

jesus, feels like every trade the JB has made has induced some sort of ulcer in my stomach
i don't have a list but does anyone have a list of all his transactions (including contract extensions and signings) since he became gm?

Ch28 02-22-2016 02:04 PM

Jason Brough ‏@JasonPHT 6m6 minutes

One more: Benning said they tried to get a d-man for Shinkaruk, but Granlund was the best they could get.

So basically like that other poster said, #DimJim was actively shopping Shink around. Say goodbye to Gaunce, because he's next.

If this happened, Benning would have pulled off a miracle.

Even without the first from TB, it would be amazing.

Ch28 02-22-2016 02:12 PM

It's over. We're fucked.
