I wouldn't think so either, it's like Crosby waiving his no trade clause and getting traded to the Flyers..lol

Hamhuis will waive for a contender close enough for an easy flight back to BC from what I understand.

THE CANUCKS NEED TO MOVE ASSETS
Based on Jim Benning’s first 20-plus months behind the wheel in Vancouver, it sure looks like he is the GM his peers should be going out of their way to feast on while they still can.

Canucks have placed Cracknell on waivers

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
At this point, (as always) subject to change, Dan Hamhuis is expected in VAN's lineup tonight vs SJ at 7 pm ET.

If they don't trade him by the game, they better not dress Hammer, knowing the Canucks' luck, he'll get injured. That just wouldn't be smart planning/asset protection....then again it is Benning/Linden

...if JB fills Cracknell's spot with a rental and tries to make the playoffs...

cdizzle_996 02-28-2016 10:51 AM

Well is Sutter back soon?

Canucks do have Hank, Bo, Granlund, McCann, Sutter + Cracknall/Vey

Nabatron 02-28-2016 11:38 AM

but what if he doesnt want to trade him and he just wants to put him down in the farm.. ?

68style 02-28-2016 11:46 AM

I don't feel like Cracknell did anything wrong he's been about as effective as you can ask your 4th liners to be from what I've seen... Seems like a good team guy... Sigh

Nabatron 02-28-2016 11:49 AM

cracknell doesnt want a trade so JB being the nice GM put him on waivers so that every other team in the NHL can pick him up for nothing.....yeah makes sense! I guess the NHL isnt a business and just does things for shits and giggles...

XplicitLuder 02-28-2016 11:51 AM

i may be alone but i guess im just the one who doesnt get it. Clearly we have too many C's at the moment, and some of them have to go down to the farm. If i was a GM, and i dont want to trade someone but i need them to go down instead of sitting up here in the press box every other game if not more, how else can i get them down there other than unfortunately have them go through waivers LOL

slicrick 02-28-2016 11:57 AM

Love NYR getting E.Staal, Stepan and Brassard are good players but not real #1 centers, hopefully E.Staal will be that one they've needed.

NYR has completely sold the farm. I don't think they've picked in the first round in 3 or 4 years, also, they have traded some of their good prospects. Might as well go all out while Lundqvist is still good.

Jmac 02-28-2016 12:11 PM

At least they got a freebie in Hayes.

Uh... you do know Cracknell doesn't have a NTC/NMC right.... he doesn't have a say if he wants to veto a trade....

Maybe he's being sent down for Utica or simply cause he has no value in a trade?

Nabatron 02-28-2016 12:32 PM

highfive 02-28-2016 12:38 PM

This might be a reason for cracknell on waivers.
