methinks the fact this happened 10ish days ago and hte kings are learning about it now makes this whole incident very suspect.
If it lead to arrest, we would have heard about this by now.

The minimum amount of a qualifying offer for Weber would've been $892,500 and, on top of that, he'd have arbitration rights. If it goes to arbitration and the team doesn't accept the arbiter's ruling, he goes to free agency but the team that walked away from the arbitrated deal cannot sign him for 1 year.
By not qualifying him, you can sign him to a lesser contract.
This is what we did with Jordan Schroeder after his ELC expired.

this is already a messed up situation simply because it doesn't seem like theres an arrest or anything like that.

cmon man, if Boston gave up a 3rd rounder for Rinaldo we could at least get a 1st or 2nd rounder for Sbisa
just need to showcase his mean streak and Boston will be drooling at the thought of having him for just a 1st rounder |

For a sec, i was like who?
Mike Jones? Who? Mike Jones!
Then i remembered they got Martin Jones for Lucic
lol wouldn't be surprised if SJ fleeced em and gave em like a 3rd to 7th rounder for him.
apparently its not a roster player.

San Jose Sharks trade a 2016 first-round draft pick plus unsigned prospect Sean Kuraly to Boston for Martin Jones

looks like he rebooted GM.exe afterall lol
Kuraly looks like a decent prospect and that 2016 first round pick will most likely be top 10 as Canucks and Sharks look to be Pacific basement dwellers next season.

overpayment by sj, but i think its an upgrade on niiemi. doubt it will be a top 10 pick. they are better than their record last year
benning on the radio just mentioned hes looking for a dman in free agency. hopefully this doesnt mean just re-signing Weber. also would seem to suggest bieksa still getting traded

Alexander Semin is being bought out. Would you take a chance on him for one year? http://www.tsn.ca/semin-boyes-placed...uyout-1.321913 Quote:
The Carolina Hurricanes are cutting ties with the pricey Alexander Semin.
The Hurricanes placed Semin on waivers with intent of buying out his contract. Semin had three years remaining on his five-year contract signed ahead of the 2013-14 season, with an annual cap hit of $7 million.
Semin's buyout comes with a $2.33 million cap hit for the next six seasons for Carolina.
The 31-year-old winger had just six goals and 13 points in 56 games for Carolina last season. For his career, the former first-round pick has 238 goals and 513 points in 635 games split between the Hurricanes and Washington Capitals.
Also placed on waivers Tuesday for intent to buyout was Florida Panthers winger Brad Boyes, who has just one year at $2.625 million remaining on his deal. Boyes had 14 goals and 38 points in 78 contests for the Panthers last year and has 203 career goals and 481 career points in 762 games with six NHL teams.
Tuesday was the last day for teams to place players on waivers with intent to buyout this season.
Meanwhile Cody Hodgson and Viktor Stalberg, placed on waivers Monday for the purpose of buyouts, each cleared.

Indications are US-Canada in the vicinity of Lake of the Woods/International Falls.
Since it was "icky" and we know he was on Lake of the Woods, I'm wondering if he didn't meet some girls out on the lake, decide it would be fun to party with them, and then it turns out that one of them is underage and from the wrong country, the police show up, and it looks like he illegally entered the US to have sexual relations with a minor?
That would also explain why there hasn't been any news and there aren't records of any arrest or anything - there could be gag orders on everything to protect the minor victim.
That seems a little far-fetched, but if it were just drugs I feel like we would have heard about it sooner.
In any of the border waters between the US and Canada, you can travel relatively freely around the lakes, and will only get into real trouble if you are caught fishing on the wrong side without the correct permits, or if you disembark on the wrong side.
lake of the woods is both US and Canada, you can boat from one country to the next
To everyone saying there wasn't an arrest, we don't know that yet really. A lot of the big reporters are saying they legally aren't allowed to report it yet, or that Canadian privacy laws are different than the US, or that they can't confirm the events and thus aren't allowed to report it yet (likely then libel or slander depending on the media). | ESPN saying some shit how theres no pending charges now... but an investigation is on going...
smuggling drugs or underage girls..
Im calling the latter...or both... according to this report out of manitoba involving meth http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=987899&tp=1

Florida buys out Boyes, who put up 38 points and had 1 year remaining at $2.5M. That's surprising to say the least, especially considering he's one of the best shootout guys in the league.
