Hammer knows how to tank

Jmac 03-01-2016 06:26 PM

Vey ruining the tank

I also will not be renewing my Season Tickets...my buddy who I share my tickets might though but I have let him know I can't continue to pay to loose money. I normally only end up going to a few games a year anyway, sell most at cost to friends/coworkers and sell the top games for profit to pay for the games I go to. I have had my tickets since 2 lockouts ago, seen the tickets rise from $29.50/each to over $50/each for the same seats. I can barely give them away now!!!! After seeing tickets on stubhub today for $12 USD... or $17 USD with fees (about $25/each Canadian) what's the point of even keeping the tickets?!?

murd0c 03-01-2016 07:25 PM

we gotta lose today since Calgary lost and Edmonton won

i completely understand and agree with your point.

however "what's the point of even keeping the tickets?" well, to go to the games instead of try to use them as an investment...

Even tho I agree the reason why you don't want to renew I think thats also a massive issue we have with the Canucks. It seems like most season ticket holders are using them to make profit which I think in part is an issue with the shitty atmosphere these days.

fliptuner 03-01-2016 07:39 PM

Canucks score 3 goals, losing 2-1 lol

radioman 03-01-2016 07:41 PM

Can confirm arena is about as full as any other weekend game I've gone to. No booing.

Quiet as fuck though.

That's why AQ continues to meddle in GM affairs

Nabatron 03-01-2016 07:45 PM

No point since the tickets are worth nothing now!

Ch28 03-01-2016 07:47 PM

TonyG - Trade deadline was "a dreadful day for everyone involved"

Say what you want about Tony Gallagher, but he's right about everything said in the interview

Nabatron 03-01-2016 07:47 PM

Too bad it isn't a blow out crowd would start chanting some shit!

I mean that more in away that I can buy tickets on the open market for cheaper then what it costs me as season ticket holder.

Don't get me wrong I am a huge canucks fan and have seen more games than I can even count, I am just not a fan of paying more than I need to.

murd0c 03-01-2016 08:23 PM

Maybe not trading Hammer is a good thing, he's sure helping the tank tonight lol

Sentinel 03-01-2016 08:25 PM

I talked to a few friends who are STH, one guy shares full season, the other guy is an ice pack holder. They both are renewing. Reason being is they want to be 'with the team' during the hard times. One guy pointed out that after the events of the TDL... It's a bullshit excuse for not renewing, because it makes Vancouver fans look bad. Only buying tickets when the team is winning. He compared ticket sales to Edm and TOR, how even they have been sucking for so many years, they still have a great fans support(season tickets).

He does have a point about the Edm/Tor ticket sales. But given the recent years of stupid ass trades and signings, it's hard to feed our hard earned cash to the dumbass aquaman.

Its up to the team to create more value... while the leafs continue to put out a mediocre product on the ice. I bet you Edmonton games are actually fun to watch. It also helps to have players that are somewhat marketable...

The canucks traded the two most marketable guys to Anaheim. but again, this team doesn't do much to give back to the STH... those townhall meetings are great though, as I said earlier, Trevor makes an effort to get to as many people as possible. mad respect because he goes out of his way to hold events in surrey so people dont have to go to the rink on purpose.

XplicitLuder 03-01-2016 08:31 PM

i think if youre a seasons holder you should renew...specially if you plan to have tickets when the team starts winning again, whenever that is. I personally am not a STH, and probably never will be as i dont have the $ but ill support the team thru thick and thin (cliche as fuck). I dont wanna be a bandwagon fan who only supports this team when theyre winning. I think there are many ways we can support them without throwing away your hard earned money, as some call it.

Low-life Sedin hits Boychuk in the face with the puck, checks to see if he's okay.

Are we still living in the past? Or celebrating the huge recent wins? Or just trying to bleed every lost drop out of Linden's name around these parts to help maintain hope? May as well be giving away contacts and gym memberships at this rate...
