-gotta keep tanking tonight against Arizona. Damn, Calgary and Edmonton lost their last game because of those pesky Sharks.

murd0c 03-09-2016 07:29 AM

No Utica for him, he would have the option to go back to the KHL if he doesn't make the team out of training camp.

With that in mind, it's quite possible that the Nucks re-sign Hamhuis and the D would look like this

Tanev/Edler
Hamhuis/Hutton
Sbisa/Tryamkin
Beiga

Bye bye Weber and/or Bartankski since both of them are UFA's at the end of this season.

don't forget Pedan

GM cap on,
I would keep Hammer if he's willing to sign a lowball palpatable contract
he's still a great mentor for the d core

Tanev/Edler
Hamhuis/Hutton
Sbisa/Biega
Tryamkin/Pedan
Subban/Larsen

i would trade Sbisa for anything at the draft just to free up his cap space and roster spot if they do decide to keep Hammer
if not, i'd still trade him for anything anyways lol

Sbisa is the ONLY physical presence on our D-line. I wouldn't be so fast to trade him.

murd0c 03-09-2016 07:52 AM

and he's having a decent year on top of that.. Also as we have said a number of times he's Benning's guy and I'm 98% positive he won't be going anywhere next year.

$3.6M cap hit for 2 more years

plus there's Pedan who has shown willingness to be physical...and Tryamkin (though i'm not sure how physical he is)
and Spizza

he has the second best +/- as a D man for the Canucks with a +3 and the best would be Hammer with a +5... He's playing strong in his own end and not giving up the puck and making dumbass moves like he was last year... This is all on a season that we are tanking and mostly everyone is playing shitty except the Sedins

You should really :stfu: cause you don't seem to know what you talking about at all...

panties up in a knot or just no coffee this morning? or...both? lol

Thanks for this, I needed a good laugh this morning :)

Yup, I'm hilarious and I apparently should shut the fuck up for not knowing anything cus suggesting a sub-par, sometimes physical, mostly-stay-at-home-but-sometimes-can't-even-get-that-right-dman with a suspect cap hit should be moved for cap space and roster space is blasphemy.

Ok then.

As much as people give Sbisa shit about his defensive play. I remember giving bieksa shit for doing stupid ass passes, bad checks or poor timing, bad spin o ramas... Until he was paired Hamhuis and saw him step it up in the playoffs, I wanted him gone based on his regular season play.

Aside from analytics, we ultimately want players who knows when the step it up when the game is on the line. We all want toews but how often does he comes by?

westopher 03-09-2016 11:35 AM

Lol armchair GMing became fucking serious business this page.

Whoever was with Sbisa along the boards failed to get the puck down low too.

One goal isn't 1 persons' fault.

Also, I'd rather trade Edler than Sbisa. Sucks on the PP and somehow more valuable...

Expresso 03-09-2016 01:33 PM

Did they have another townhall yesterday?

Nabatron 03-09-2016 01:41 PM

^yeah i think at rogers couldnt find anything on it tho!

Liquid_o2 03-09-2016 01:55 PM

Too many Town Halls. Why do the Canucks insist on pandering to the fans month after month. Actions speak louder than words. Just keep putting together a competitive team!

6o4__boi 03-09-2016 02:02 PM

lol wasn't JB saying that Canucks will be playoff contenders and a 100 point team before this season started

and then at the last THM, Linden basically said Canucks were in over their heads and making the playoffs was too much of an expectation

putting together a competitive team is too hard for JB so it looks like they'll be sticking to these THM's for now

Nabatron 03-09-2016 02:26 PM

When JB said that he was banking on guys having career years and hoping young guys would step up and get a shit load of points...i mean the picture was on the wall when he let guys go or traded for nothing in the off season! By guys like mathias, richardson, kassian leaving and taking their goals with them and not replacing them with anyone wtf do you expect! JB was gambling and failed!

TjAlmeida 03-09-2016 02:29 PM

Spoiler!

I think a forward or center man should have noticed the Sbisa pinch and started to cover him. He did skate hard all the way to come back, and Hutton definitely should have played the 2 on 1 better. As soon as Sbisa was close to getting back he left the middle and moved to the outside man giving Carter a clean cut to the net.

Two rookie mistakes which im sure both of them can learn from.

Sbisa just turned 26, he has improved and deserves to stick around and get a chance to battle for a bottom 6 spot next training camp.

It should be quite the battle though, Pedan/Biega/Sbisa/Tryamkin/.... Even though its for a bottom 6 roll :lawl:
