Games remain:
Edm : Sj, LA, Ana, Cal, Van, Van

WPG: LA, Buf, Phi, Ott, Chi, Min, Ana, Sj, LA

Tor: ANa, Bos, TB, Fla, Buff, Det, Fla, Cbj, Phi, Nj

seems like Oilers will get #1 pick again lol

murd0c 03-23-2016 07:19 AM

as long as we lose to the two games against Edmonton we might still have a chance

Nabatron 03-23-2016 08:55 AM

I could see this happening canucks win the draft lottery, get first overall, you know when they do behind the scenes on the draft floor or in the war room shit...well I can see the management group sitting there pondering who to pick first overall...JB says to the group we should draft mathews he will be or corner stone piece at centre for years to come. Weisbrod leans over blows in JB's ear "we should draft chychrun instead because we need a "good" defensemen other then edler" JB says your right fuck mathews we will draft chychrun....

this is when i think another riot will happen in Vancouver....

Ch28 03-23-2016 09:22 AM

Canucks could use anyone that's good right now. It's true that we've never had a stud defenseman to anchor the D line. We've had lots of "good" defenseman (Ohlund, Jovo, Salo, Ehrhoff) but never an elite presence in the back like a Keith or Weber. That's sort of the consensus as to what this team needs in terms of prospects, but don't forget that we have the Sedins for a max of 2 years (provided a major deal isn't made to ship them to a contender to try and win a cup).

Once Henrik and Daniel leave the Canucks then we're going to have a major hole up front. That's why I think it's imperative that the Canucks drop to the lowest spot they can to give themselves the best shot at a top 3 pick, because any of the top 3 guys will change this franchise's prospect pool around and give us an elite level player that we haven't had since Bure/Mogilny.

Always pick the BPA

Liquid_o2 03-23-2016 09:34 AM

Unless it is an Aaron Ekblad or Viktor Hedman type player that you know will be an absolute stud straight out of the draft, best to go with a high skilled forward in the top 3 picks.

willystyle 03-23-2016 09:56 AM

What are the career projections for the top 3 picks this year?

Nabatron 03-23-2016 09:57 AM

top 3 in my eyes mathews, laine, puljarvi dont think you can go wrong with any of them...as for chychrun he isnt a stud dman..

draft him 31-34 overallEliteprospects.com - Lucas Johansen

now listed 6'4

pastarocket 03-23-2016 10:04 AM

-really hoping that the Canucks continue their tank job.

What are the chances of the team establishing a league record for most consecutive games without scoring a goal against the opposition? :troll:

spideyv2 03-23-2016 10:04 AM

Wasn't Weisbrod the mastermind behind drafting Jankowski with the 21st overall pick?

rip

Viktor Hedman was definitely not a stud 'straight out of the draft'.

It's not fail proof if you don't do what a GM should do which is trade from a position of strength to address weaknesses.

Edmonton kept all of them, got rid of all of their insulary players, and never addressed their weaknesses. Bad management

Hindsight if they drafted Seguin instead of Hall. They would be in a much different position.

I still remember the Taylor or Tyler debate. Who will they draft? I think they were weak in centres yet they still go for a winger instead?

The Yakupov pick was just terrible. They didn't even need a top skill winger at that time.

Jmac 03-23-2016 12:48 PM

Good for the tank

Management wanted Ryan Murray but ownership told them to draft Yakupov instead.
